My toddler is not quite 4 yet so day long summer camps are out of the question. I am trying to come up with ideas for activities to keep us somewhat busy for the summer months during the morning and mid day. Does anyone have any good ideas? I am willing to travel and live in the West valley (peoria)

Hi, I love summer time there are lots of things to do with the kids. Both movie theatres, AMC, and Harkins, offer free movies in the morning during the week. The foothills library has a lot of great free activities including puppet shows and lego building. I always get season passes for the waterparks becuase it is such a good bargain if you get them early, I am on their email list, the waterslides include waterworld, sunsplash, and big surf. I like to take my kids to chucky cheese just to play a few games. The Phoenix art musuem is free on Thursday or Wednesday, I think. You can look it up on the net. I took my kids to the Arizona Science Center for the grossology exhibit. Micheal art store offers art classes. And I teach at the West Valley art Musuem they offer great classes during the summer. Bowling is fun and there is a indor putt putt called Mini golf paradise that is fun. Sory I did not get on to this website sooner but maybe this will help you enjoy what is left of this summer!

I too live in Peoria. My mom is home with my daughter, who turns 4 next month, and we are always looking for things to do for them.
There is a place called Pump It Up on 83rd Ave & Union Hills. They have designated times 3 days a week where young ones can go in and have free reign of the place. I beleive they charge $7.00. There is a Borders on 73rd & Bell who, every Wednesday morning, has a free craft class where the the "teacher" reads a book to the kids, then they make a craft and have a snack. There is a toy store on 67th & Beardsley called Kidstop who holds craft classes for a small fee. Arrowhead Mall has a Westcor Kids Club that is free and meets once a month for activities. These are just a few things to do that really dont cost much. Also, there is a great pool called Sunrise Pool on 83rd Ave & Lone Cactus (Deer Valley). There is also a place called Katydid Insect Museum on 51st Ave & Bethany Home Road

Check out your local library. They usually have things going on in the summer. Also the Arizona Science Center is a fun place to spend the day. It's downtown and a drive, but well worth it!
