Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew of any indoor play areas in Raleigh, other than the malls. It's been so hot lately my 21 month old is getting kind of stir crazy. We moved here from Wilmington and there was a place called Monkey Joe's there, but the only one I can find is in Cary. With gas as high as it is I would love to find something closer. My mom is coming to visit us for a few days and really wants to find some place fun to take him. Thanks!
Marbles museum in dowtown Raleigh is amazing! It is only $5.00 per person. It is not really a museum persay, but has MANY hands on activities for kids of all ages.
Hi S., I am sure that others have replied by now ... but have you tried Marbles Kids Museum? Also good choices are local library story times. The Museum of Natural Sciences is a great choice. They have story time (where you meet the animals too) every day at 10:30 a.m. (prompt! - dont be late -they lock the door). Also, in the afternoon you can go in the discovery room and just play. There is dress up, stuff to feel and touch etc. This is a great free place to go.

There is a place called Jumpin Beans in Wake Forest. It is not to expensive. The website is www.jumpinbeans.com. Maybe that is something that you can take your son to that is still air conditioned.

I'd also recommend the NC Natural Science Museum in downtown Raleigh -- especially the Discovery Room on the 2nd floor, oh and the Living Conservatory (has lots of butterflies flying around) on the 4th floor.

HEy, there is a kids museum downtown called "Marbles Museum" and it is freakin awesome! there is all kinds of stuff to do for all ages of kids. it's great. There are also Chuck E Cheeses on Capitol (Not sure exactly what you're looking for).
You can also go on www.wral.com and there is a Kids Calendar of activities going on in the triangle for kids. You might alos like story times at your local library.
I know you've been to all the malls, but some friends of mine and I are taking our little ones to Triangle Town Center every now and then because they have this area outside the food court where water shoots up from the ground and the kids can play in it. I noticed that LOTS of parents brought their kids in bathing suits just to play in the water. it's ok for the little ones too in the early mornings. the older kids tend to show up around lunch time.

Pump It Up is the most popular indoor play area in Raleigh. There are two locations, one near the airport (RDU) and one in Wake Forest. The kids LOVE it, so it's worth a drive. Hope this helps!
hi S.. i have family in wilmington. welcome to raleigh! there is a similar place to mj's called pump it up. it's over near brier creek and there is an alternate location in wake forest. they have pop in playtime on mondays from 10-11 and 11-12 at the raleigh location for $7. i believe the web address is pumpitupparty.com
the place at rtp is called tk's jungle and it is a little further.
of course we too have many chick fil a locations with indoor playgrounds, just like wilmington!
