Does anyone know of a good kid-friendly place that I can get my son's first haircut? He's not due for a haircut just yet, but my sister-in-law's son is so we both have been searching for a place that will accommodate our boys. I know there are some kid-geared places out there. We live in Amherst, OH so Lorain County or the western Cleveland suburbs would be ideal. Thanks!

Hi, I took both my 12 year old and 21 month old for their first hair cuts at Kids Kuts on Lorain Road in Fairview Park, Ohio. It is a bit of a drive but worth it. They take a photo of your child, give you a lock of hair and they receive a first haircut certificate. Also, Cookie Cutters in Strongsville, they have cute chairs and the kids can watch a video while they get the cut and there is a slide inside, its cute.
Well where does your husband get his hair cut? That would be the place I would suggest you take him. That is something they could do together. As long as you make it exciting and a pleasant experience he should be fine. It isn't the place but more how you react to what is going on. He will feed off of you. If you are exciting to go so will he. Talk to him before he goes to get him ready for it so that it isn't such a shock to him. Tell him what they are going to do and such. It will be ok. Good Luck.

It's not necessarily "kid" friendly, but my nephew got his first cut and has continued to go to Lily's on the corner of Griswold and Lake Ave in Elyria. Lily is really great with him. He is 2.

My boys love going there! They are a lil' pricey but it's well worth it, the staff is wonderful and actually does what you want with the hair and they actually talk with your children and play games if they are afraid...they are there for your kids and you can tell!!!
