My current OB is moving out of state and I am in search of a new OB. I currently see Dr Cole from Associated Valley OB/GYN. I'd like to see another of the doctors there in her office but I'm not sure who to pick. Does anyone have any experience with the other doctors (Webb, Hanlon, Channell or Oxford....) If so, I'd love to hear your experiences, both good and bad. Thank you so much.

What can I do next?

I went through dr. Hanlon for my second pregnancy and she did way better then the doctor I had for the first pregnancy she was really great I still see her as my gyn and am very happy with her, I aslo saw Channell and really liked her as well she was friendly and up front about everything, she also assisted on my c-section. They would let you see all of them and then you could pick the one that fits you best.

I had Dr. Channell and LOVED her! I still go for my yearly exams even though I could just have my family doctor do it just because I love seeing Dr. Channell once a year :)

Most ob-gyn practices have their patients have at least one appt with each of the other dr's in the practice just in case they aren't available when you deliver. No one wants to see a stranger on delivery day. So whoever you decide to have as your primary ob care dr, they'll all be sharing responsibility for you and your baby. In short, any of them would be fine, they share like values and styles of practice or they wouldn't be working together. You can always ask Dr. Cole before she leaves who she thinks would be the best match for you and her partners. Ask the nurse who sees you in the office, who does she think would meet your needs and match your personality. It's scary to 'lose' your ob-gyn. I know when my insurance chg'd after my last child and I needed a gyn procedure and couldn't see my dr, I was scared and devastated. I had developed such a level of confidence and communication with him. It will be okay, change is hard, but it can deliver terrific outcomes. Best wishes!!!

Well, my advice may be a bit biased. I work at Valley and I had both of my boys here. I personally have known Dr. Hanlon for 18 years. She delivered my cousins who are now in their 20's and she saw me during my pregnancies. Dr. Channel, from what I have heard is AMAZING. I honestly don't know much about Dr. Webb. I hope this helps you and CONGRATULATIONS!

Hi!

My Doctor for my son (now 20 months old) was Dr. Webb. I loved her! I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and am using Dr. Webb again. (November 25th is my first appointment with her because she'll be on vacation at my 9 week check-up.) She is great with answering any questions and very direct if any issues come up (which I found almost refreshing). It's very obvious that she loves kids.

When my son was born Dr. Hanlon was actually the one that delivered him (Dr. Webb had a 24 hour shift the day before so wasn't available) and I wasn't too impressed. I had gone the whole labor without any drugs and was getting very close to pushing and she encouraged me to get an epidural. The reason (which she was at least honest about) was that one of her actual patients was also going without drugs and we were basically at the same place with me being only slightly faster. She wanted to deliver her patient, but wouldn't be able to deliver us both if I didn't slow down. When I still refused the epidural she ended up delivering me, but I almost wish she would have called in another doctor instead. She was telling jokes and being very distracting....which might not bother some mothers, but I already had a bad taste in my mouth from her (not to mention I was pushing), so I wasn't laughing. :)

I haven't any experience with Dr. Channell or Oxford so I can't give any advice there. Good luck with your switch!

I go there and have seen almost all of those doctor's because of being pregnant (and being in the hospital for birth and awhile for pre-term labor.) Dr. Webb is my personal doctor and she's great, she's very straight-forward, which is what I like. I can also vouche for Dr. Channell, she was there a lot for my stay when I went into labor early (29 weeks pregnant) and most doctors would have just sent me on my way when they didn't see the contractions, but she checked me and I found out I was dialating. I love Dr. Webb, but if she moved, I would go to Dr. Channell next.

My Dr. is Dr. Channell. I love, love, love her. I would not go to anyone else. I saw her all through my pregnancy, unfortunately she didn't get to deliver my son, as she was off the weekend he was born. Dr. Hanlon delivered him and I wasn't impressed with her bedside manner, she was very gruff. But, Dr. Channell is great! She promised if I have another one she would be there for sure.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Calvin Wallace. He is with MultiCare and has offices in Kent and in Covington. He delivers at Valley Medical Center.

He is extremely patient and caring! In all my years of seeing an OB/GYN, he is the best.

I see Dr. James Rice at Valley Women's Clinic across the street from Valley. He is EXCELLENT! Takes all the time in the world to answer questions, alleviate your fears, etc. I'd highly recommend him to anyone.
