Hi there. My husband and I just adopted our third child. This adoption was unplanned on our part so we are unprepared! We have a five year old daughter and a 19 month old son. Our newest is a three week old girl. We now need a double stroller. Any recommendations? Does anyone have one for sale?
I have an umbrella double by mclaren and I find it is soooooooo light and folds up flat so I can fit in in any car but it does not have the perks of a phil and teds or other swivel wheeled strollers. I like it for my needs. Its easily transportable and not so expensive.
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. We use the Peg Perego Twin Aria and love it.
It is very lightweight and extremely easy to fold. It fits into single doorways, though some are tighter than others. When this is the case, the best trick is to angle in the doorway one way, then once your in, angle out the other way (like the letter C.)
It is also good for us because the seats recline pretty low for naps and they have little trays for snacks (no drinks though). The hoods are separate for each child and the basket below is quite large.
In some stores and areas, it is a little harder to get around because they like to jam the aisles with stuff, especially during the holiday season. But we really haven't had too much of an issue.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this one. It really depends on how you're going to be using yours. We did not want the tandem (like the very popular graco duo glider) because though it is narrower, it is very heavy and hard to get in and out of the car. We also didn't want the boys fighting about who goes in front.

I have a plain old inexpensive Kolkraft double umbrella stroller that my kids will fit in until they are 4 or so. It folds up small and is convenient. I also wish that I had purchased as my "big" stroller, a double bike trailer that converts into a jog stroller. There are a few brands and some are only found in bike stores. They cover completely when it is raining and are the most versatile.

I am also searching for double stollers. I am interested in the Peg Perego Aria. It only weights 14 lbs!! It says it can fit in standard doorways too. I am interested to hear what others have to say as well!

My recommendation depends on what you will use the stroller for. If you live in the city and will not be folding the stroller to put in the car very often, then the Graco Duoglider is a great, inexpensive option. The age difference between your two youngest means fighting for "front seat" won't be a problem. The infant can ride in her car seat snapped snugly into the back. The back seat can also be completely covered with the car seat canopy and the stroller canopy combined to make a warm sleeping nest. The narrowness of the stroller is also a huge plus, although the length makes it a bit more difficult to maneuver (but great for the biceps!). I used a duoglider for the past 3 years with my sons and loved it for these reasons. However, if you drive a lot and live in the 'burbs I would suggest the Combi Twin Traveler. It has smaller wheels, so it is not ideal for pavement/sidewalks, but it is amazingly light, has a small/easy fold, reclining seats, and canopies and snack cups for the kids. I have used this one for traveling and to keep in my car and it is great for those purposes. Sorry to say I am still using both, but good luck!
we have and are trying to get rid of an eddie bauer tandem - if you live in the burbs and have an suv or minivan, it is great. not at all good for a city condo and a small sedan. my daughter and the sitter's girl got a real kick out of being able to face each other when they went for rides.
i have since purchased a phil & ted's e3 with doubles kit. it is expensive (in line with the Pegs and such), but OH MY GOODNESS do I love it, as does our sitter. it is a single jogging style stroller that has a second seat that attaches in 2 different locations depending on the ages of the kids. you cannot use it for twins until they can both sit up. with a newborn and toddler, the newborn lays flat and the toddler sits above her. when the younger baby can sit, she sits behind and lower than the main seat (my kid LOVES sitting below - she has toys and can see who is pushing her). you can see pictures at www.philandteds.com. they sell it at The Right Start (in red) and online at several places.
