Looking for Preschool for 2 Year Old - Hampshire,IL

I am looking for a part time preschool for 2 year old. I am thinking of something @2-3 hours a day 2-3 days a week. I am currently pregnant with twins and will become a stay at home mom. I think a part time preschool would be fun for my son and a great way for all of us to get out of the house. I am thinking of a church since the costs seem a lot less then a daycare facility. I have only found ones that start at 3 years old. My son won't be 3 till Feb 2011 and the babies will be here this summer. So wondering if anyone knows of any that I may have missed and that is reputable. I am looking in the Elgin/Huntley/Gilberts/Pingree Grove/Hampshire/Dundee/Algonquin/Lake in the Hills area.

What can I do next?

St Peter's Little Saints in Hampshire off of 47 and Plank Road have that available. My son went there for 2 years and absolutely loved it. My daughter will be starting there in the fall.

Light of Christ Church in Algonquin has a wonderful preschool program that my 3yr old daughter is currently attending. They also have a 1 day a week two hour drop-off program for 2yr olds. It is the Huggy Bear class and they meet on Wednesday's from 9:30-11:30 and the cost is $14 per day. Good luck finding the right program for your little one!

My son goes to First Congregational Church of Dundee's 3-year-old program and loves it. They have a 2/young 3 year-old class or a parent's day out program. Check out them out at www.fccdundee.com .

I see that you included Lake in the Hills, Algonquin area. My son goes to a preschool in Crystal Lake. It is truly wonderful with small class sizes(which I like because it means more one-on-one with my son). The teachers are all dedicated, experienced, loving, and creative. It is called Bethany Preschool. They do have a 2 year-old class. My older son went there two years ago and my 4 year old son is there now. If you would like more info. please let me know.
He was very much a mommy's boy and I was worried about the seperation axiety. He absolutely loves it. He probaby wishes he could go everyday...but I am not ready for that yet.:) The main teachers are Ms. Marcia and Ms. Bridget. I am sure they would be happy to talk to you and show you the classrooms. It is located at the intersection of McHenry Rd. and Crystal Lake Rd. (near the crystal lake library.) They do wonderful things like "Dad's day at school" "Mom's day at school", 'Grandparent day". You can sign up every month to be "mystery reader" and you can come in and read to your child's class. Good Luck!

Check your YMCA or Park District- Our DeKalb area YMCA has a 2 year old preschool and I know of park districts that offer something similar, too.

My daughter went to See Saw in Plato Center for 2 years. She loved it. I think they have a location in Burlington as well. 847-464-KIDS. Very reasonable rates and they do part time.

There is a 2 1/2 yr old preschool class at Hosanna! Lutheran Church. It is off of Randall Rd and is on the north end of St. Charles. It's probably 3-4 miles south of Elgin.

Our son is enrolled in the 3-4 yr old class and we have been very pleased with the school.

It is a little out of the area you requested so I'm not sure if it is an option.

First of all, congrats on the upcoming birth of your twins! With regards to 2-year-old preschools, I don't know of any that offer 2-3 days a week for 2 year olds, but the church I attend has something called Parents' Day Out every Friday from 9:30-1:30. It is set up like a preschool with lots of educational activities. You even send a lunch and your child eats lunch there. As long as your child is 2 by September, you can register him for next school year. I believe it starts in September (my daughter will be 2 in March, so I'm planning on registering her next year as well). The church is called Fox Valley Church and it's located in West Dundee, on Huntley road just off of Randall Road (across from the big nursery/greenhouse). The cost is $100/month, which breaks down to $5/hour. I hope this helps! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! :-)

You should look into the Mother's Day Out program at Cornertstone Church. It's located at Muirhead and Russel Rds in Plato Center which is very close to Hampshire,Elgin,Pingree Grove. They have a program in which you can bring your child up to 4 days a week from 9am-Noon. The cost is $10 per day. The set up is similar to that of a pre school. I took my daughter their when she was a little over 2 and a friend of mine takes her daughter there and just loves it. Good luck with the new babies.
