We go to Stepping Stones preschool in North St. Paul. It is located in Beaver Lake. The teacher, Susan is GREAT!! They have the option of AM or PM and either 2 day OR 3 day. Good luck - there are so many to choose from!

We also used Stepping Stones. The first year we went to Beaver Lake and the second year we went to North High School in N. St. Paul. They have a separate area that the high school kids don't have access to and the preschoolers couldn't get into their side either.

You should check out The Children's Farm in West Lakeland (Stillwater). It is just east of the Lake Elmo Airport - only about 10 minutes from Oakdale. Four of my kids went to preschool there and absolutely LOVED it! It is a truly unique program that offers the kids opportunities to feed and care for various farm animals, ride horse, go for nature hikes, go sledding, collect eggs from the chickens, plant and harvest garden vegetables, etc. They have a beautiful new classroom where they do lots of fun indoor activities like reading, role play, crafts, singing, playing music and instruments, preparing/cooking their own healthy snacks, etc. They teach a lot of independence and social skills. They even sheer sheep there and the kids get to spin and dye there own wool! I grew up in a small farm town and I'm SO grateful that this school gave my kids the chance to experience some of the wholesome things that I did when I was little. It's really a great place. The program is 1/2 day and you can choose two or three days a week. It is NOT a daycare. Registration for new students is, I think, this month and there is often a waiting list-so if you're interested, don't delay checking them out! Good luck!

I brought ours to Carol Mathey's memorial center off of 120. Not to say it is the best preschool, but it is an option. It is on a large open lot with a park and some of the teachers are super.
