Can anyone recommend a good pediatric dentist in Millcreek area, Holladay or Sugarhouse? My son just turned 1 and his Ped suggested sending him to a Ped dentist soon for his first checkup.
Thanks!

Dr Barney does free dental exams until the child's third birthday. I can get more information if you need some. He is in cottonwood heights I think...

I don't have his card in front of me, but we totally love Dr Reinermer. He's nice, he's fast and his staff is wonderful, my daughter has been going there for years. He's located in murray close to holiday.

It looks like you may have found some one, but I still wanted to recommend Gerald Boseman, on Highland Dr and about 4200 S. He's not a pediatric dentist specifically - he's a family dentist - but has been GREAT with my kids. The first exams are just 'counting the teeth' so that they got used to him looking in their mouth (he also makes sure they're healthy too!) My son (now 7) has needed a fair amount of dental work done in the past 2 years and Dr. Boseman has been great in his approach!

We also go to Burg Pediatric Dentistry & they have been fantastic. I've seen 2 different dentists (one of them moved) and I have loved them both. The staff is great & they run on time.

Our ped recommended Burg Pediatric Dentristy on 3900 S (a little below Highland Drive). We go to Dr. Christensen there and we love him! The office staff is great and my children don't mind going to the dentist at all. They actually frequently ask when they get to go to the tooth doctor again.

dr. jeff burg pediatric dentistry. i took mine in at 1. they say every year from 1-3 and then every 6 months (once they have their 2 year molars). the staff is really nice and they only work with kids, so they specially trained to work with little ones. there are two offices, one in sandy 1030# 11400S suite 101 sandy ut 84094 ###-###-#### or murray the address is on vine street, i think 600e and vine, but you can call the number above to get that info if you are closer to murray than sandy.

Hi
I've been a full time dental hygienist for 16 years. Don't think you NEED to take your child to a pedodontist. If you have a general dentist that you know & like (and trust) take your child there. General dentists see TONS of kids. Pedodontists are great for kids that are EXTRA nervous or who have dental problems that require general anesthesia or if it's just your personal preference. It usually isn't necessary and can be much more expensive. It's also more convenient for your whole family to have the same dentist. Until age 3 all we do is take a quick look at their development and answer any questions the parents have. Most offices do not charge anything until they're 3. We don't even give them their own appointment until age 3. We just take a quick peek when they come in with a parent or sibling (which is good to familiarize them with the office and what goes on during a cleaning & exam). Most offices are so cute toward little ones and sensitive to making it a positive experience.
