Do you know where I can go to get a medical ID bracelet? My son needs to wear a medical ID bracelet to school. I have found them online. However, I think he would like to pick it out for himself.

What can I do next?

I ordered some for my son from N-Style. It is an online website and they have some fun designs specifically for kids.

We use Medic-Alert. It's well recognized by the medical community. I wouldn't consider another one if you're using it for medical reasons. There are several bands to choose from. It lists my son's "peanut allergy, latex allergy and other food allergies" there is a phone number to call Medic-Alert 24 hours to get the rest of his medical info. We travel a lot so another number is listed - info will be able to be translated if we have an emergency in another country. We put it on over two years ago, my son is 4 and VERY active. It has never came off and he has never had a problem wearing it. T.

HelloAJB C,
We found ours at Walmart from a book they had, we also found a jewler at Sears that had them.
Be sure that it has the name spelled right and the information. The first one had our son as Joanathan--- just didn't go well with him.
I also found that he liked to wear the dog tags becasue he felt he was honoring the servicemen and women.
good Luck

My mother got my sister's from the pharmacy. There was a sign up at the pharmacy counter and she ordered it from there. So maybe calling them would be a good resource, even just to get some suggestions.

Check out what they have on ebay. When I was looking for one for my son about 4-years ago, they had several vendors who offered a number of different styles. And the price was very reasonable.

I buy mine that I get for my son at N-Style ID. They have lots of kids ones and patterns even. I would suggest buying two because mine always get misplaced and then found a few days later:) Use the code FREESHIP6 for free shipping until June 30th.

Medic Alert 1-8006253780 has all sorts of ID bracelets. I wear the sports band now. The yearly rate is reasonable and I have been wearing one for years.

I'm not sure where you could buy them locally, but could sit down with your son and go online to help him pick out what he'd like?

I did a quick Google search and found 3 sites (http://www.americanmedical-id.com/; http://www.medicalert.org/; http://www.creativemedicalid.com), which all offer different styles. (Caveat--I haven't actually bought from any of these companies). One of them (medicalert.org) offers a sports band style of bracelet, and the creativemedicalid.com seemed to have large selection of bracelet options, as well.

I'm glad you brought this up - I had to do some research on it anyway, because our son was diagnosed with severe peanut allergies and we're thinking of getting him a medical alert bracelet until he's old enough to understand and speak for himself (he's only 18m).

Our family likes the products made by Lifetag. There are necklaces and bracelets for all kinds of conditions, including the simple ALERT notice...there's also a very cool kit with beads and the medical alert charm that kids can string together themselves. The website is www.lifetag.com. Good luck!

Hi Momma-
You can get them at the drug store/walgreens or rite aid. I am pretty sure cvs pharmacy carries them, but I have yet to be inside of one, so I couldn't promise you. You can take him in and let him pick one out. They are all pretty much the same. He could also wear the necklace one- looks like a mini dog tag. I am not sure about your price range, but you can also go into shops that do engraving and choose one. On the back you can have inscribed whatever his issues are and his name.
Lastly, I googled ID bracelets and these are what I found:
This first one has really fun snap on bracelets for about $16 each.

This place lets you personalize the bracelet/Medi Alert jewelry

This place offers the silicone bracelets, metal ones, necklaces, etc.

All of the options are on the far left of the screen.

Happy browsing and good luck!

have you tried Medic-Alert? they make very sturdy bracelets and can hold a lot of info. but not the child's name. So you dont have to worry about strangers getting their names. think it's medic-alert.com

I don't know how old your son is, but at the above site they have cartoon characters and other neat designs that he could choose from. I have a 2yr old who has a severe peanut allergy and I bought him the elmo bracelet.... he loves it.
