Ever since MJ died, my 9 year old has loved his music. She wants to see "This is it". I havn't seen it, nor do I want to, but has anyone else? Does it focus alot on anything bad that happened with the molestation stuff? I don't want her to see it if any of that stuff is in there. Anyone see it that can help me decide?

What can I do next?

I have not seen "This Is It", but I wanted to let you know about a website called commonsensemedia.com. It reviews movies, tv shows and video games. People who have seen it let you know how it was and if appropriate. It's also rated by the kids! The exact words/situations in the movie are displayed. For example, I went there for the movie "RV". It mentioned the words used in the move. I, personally, didn't think "terd" was all that bad, so I let my kids watch it. Other movies I have checked up on, I've decided they were not for my family. It's a great resource!

Bethany,
It is almost completely footage of rehearsals for the show he was going to do in England. The rest is interviews of the people who were working with him.
The only thing you might not like is scenes from "Thriller." It has ghoulish images. There's nothing about the trials in it. Other than "Thriller," it's all very positive.
I wasn't particularly wanting to see it, but it wasn't bad.
Hope this helps.

This is such a great site when you want to know if a movie is appropriate or not - http://www.pluggedin.com/

We saw about 45min of it in a furniture store (daughter 7) and what we saw was fine. But I have yet to read the review or see the whole movie.

I think it would be fine for your 9 year old to see. It is really only his rehearsal for the concert and that is it. So you see him singing, dancing, and performing. (There is not that much crotch grabbing, it is his signature move) I am not a huge fan of MJ but thought the movie was really pretty good.

The fact that Micheal Jackson grabs his crotch all the time is enough for me to consider some of his singing footage inappropriate for children.

Personally I liked most of the music he did as part of Jackson Five and up to Thriller. After Thriller his stuff got too weird for me. You can get his music without watching movies or videos. As an adult I don't need to see anyone grabbing their own or anyone elses crotches and I don't think a 9 yr old needs to see that either, but that's just me.

I truly loved it. It was very good. MJ knows what love is and it all starts with us the people. Choregrophy was awesome. You're daughter will love it! I can't wait to show my nephews10 & 11 when they get back from Disney world. I bought it that is how much I truly loved it.
