Hi J.!
I had the same theme for my son's 2nd b/day party. go to disney.com and there's a link toward the top of the page about party ideas. I made really cute mickey cupcakes for the kids, recipe is on the link. Have fun!
Okay creative mom's! I am having a Mickey themed 1st birthday for my son and want to get creative- we are having a huge (hopefully outside) party with lots of pre-school age kids. I was hoping to have a Mickey come to the house but the only company I found locally is booked that day (affairs r us in center city). Any ideas for decorations, food, activites would be welcome!!! Thanks-

We went to a mickey party where they had spray painted (not sure exactly with what though, maybe like baseball field line stuff) a mickey silhouette in the grass of the backyard, it was really cool! You may want to check out costume shops and see if you could rent a mickey costume and have someone dress up in it for the party!! Have fun!!
Maybe you could order mickey ears for favors too!
HAve you been to costco lately? They have mickey shaped chicken nuggets, mickey shaped apple slices, also target carries full sized Mickey mouse patties for chicken burgers. Good luck. P.S at disney they sell mickey mouse shaped rice crispy treats with the ears dipped in chocolate. I know coockie cutters in mickey shaped are sold also at target.
We usually splurge for a mylar balloon for birthdays, as they last so long (and the little ones love them). If you can't find a nice big Mickey one locally, you can order online and have it filled locally.
Also, Mickey cupcakes would be cute and not too complicated - just use chocolate wafers for the ears or google "mickey mouse cupcakes" for other ideas.
Gotta do mouse ears for everyone - could even have it be a craft activity for the pre-schoolers. Just get some headbands and some foam for the ears.
Hope these help :)
I made my own Mickey pinata. I used 3 ballons and paper mache. One big balloon for face and 2 small for the ears. It was so pretty, I could not let the kids beat on it. I used pull strings and a secret hatch opened in the bottom. Put it together again, and it still hangs in the play room. :-) Good luck to you, I assume you checked for activities and coloring pages online? Also, I saw mickey mouse shaped cheeze at Wal-mart.

You could start out by using red and black streamers everywhere, which are Mickey's colors, and white if you'd like. Same colors for balloons. Find some CDs to put in a boombox outside with Mickey songs, Playhouse Disney, etc. Mickey cake. Food with cheese since it's a favorite food for mice, lol. You can make a giant Mickey on paper and play pin the tail on the mouse. Check out the local party supply stores for games and ideas. And check the online party supply stores for more ideas as well.
