Get the hair bands - the stiff kind that girls use. Use foam to cut the ears and paste them on the hair clip. There is special glue for the foam.
I'm planning my soon to be 3-year old's birthday party for next month, and it is going to be a Mickey Mouse party. I was thinking about having a set of mouse ears for all the kids but need a VERY fast, easy and cheap method of doing so. There could be up to 10-15 kids there of varying ages (1-5 yrs) and I am NOT a crafty/creative person. Anyone know of a simple pattern for construction paper, or something along those lines? Thanks!

I googled "easy mickey mouse ears" and this came up as one of the sites: http://northcoastevents.makesparties.com/Catalog.aspx?int...
Don't know if it'll help - it's mickey ear headbands - 4 pack for 4$, but maybe it'll work. Have fun!

Have you tried birthdayinabox.com, they have mouse ears 4pair for 3.29 or inexpensive head bands and pipe cleaners or felt.
if you have a hot glue gun I would suggest going to the dollar store and buying a bunch of cheap hadbands then cutting the bottom off of styrofoam cups and painting them black or even pink for the girls. Then just hot glue the cup bottoms to the headbands. Voilà mouse ears! Good luck.
check with oriental trading. i once bought some for my kids at school. another idea....go to a teacher supply store and buy sentence strips. staple 2 black circles on the front. when the children arrive, staple the strips to fit each head for a perfect fit.
We made these when I was in elementary school. We each brought one of our dads' old caps and glued black cardboard ears (simple half circles) to the tops. I still remember it and thought it was so cool to be using my dad's hat. If you could get everyone to bring a hat it might work, but I know that could be difficult.

Two suggestions to try: Simple coloring books make excellent pattern sources! Or go online and search for a picture with good ears, save to your computer, and size it to suit! Cut ears from construction paper or poster board would be a little stiffer. A fun game to play could be "Put Ears on Mickey" ... put double-stick tape on back of construction-paper ears and let the children stick them on a big round circle ... a version of the old Pin the Tail ... or it could be a fun craft project for the little ones to take home.
Good Luck with the party and have fun!

I had to make them for Halloween a long time ago. All you need is black felt, black pipe cleaners, plastic head bands, hot glue...

LOL, looks like my idea for headbands is a popular one!! I was thinking black hard plastic headbands with black foam ears. If you have an exact or at least firm estimate on the headcount, you will know how many boys vs. girls to expect. A red bow is relatively simple and will transform your Mickey ears into Minnie ears. Good luck!
Supplies:
10 sheets/squares of stiff felt
(found at craft/fabric stores)
10 plain, unadorned headbands
(found at craft stores)
hot melt glue
(high temperature-keep away from the kids though-low melt will not work as well)
scissors
circle pattern
(use a canned food bottom or anything else to size)
Cut out circles, then cut straight flat edge on one side. Glue to headband at designated spot.
Let cool.

I'm not a crafty person either, but here is an idea. Buy some headbands (age appropriate, you know one to fit the 1 year old's head too), black felt and black craft paper (the heavy duty stuff, like for scrapbooking). You can cut out the felt and craft paper into "ears" and hot glue them onto the headbands.
Good luck!!

I say get a cheap headband for each kid and then cut out big black circles from construction or look for large foam circles and then glue/tape them onto the head band. Cheap and fast!
We did Minnie Mouse for my daughter's second birthday and we got some at Party City. I think their were about 8 or so in a pack for just a couple of dollars.
Consider using a black headband as your base and then attaching cardboard ears to it with hot glue. I would buy some paper that is stiffer than regular construction paper.
A very inexpensive way to do this i to buy sheets of craft foam from Wal-Mart and cut the ears out ahead of time then use either poster board or inexpensive headbands(you can buy 3 for $1.00 at a Dollar Tree or .99 store) to glue the ears onto. I've actually done this and they're super cute and cost next to nothing. If you're not worried about them being a little more durable you can easily use poster board for the ears as well and it will cost even less. I hope your little one has a wonderful birthday!
I have made bear ears using standard head bands (the U shaped hard ones)wrapping furry material around cardboard and placing felt in the center. be sure to leave a flap at the bottom to glue to the head band and use stiff cardboard. I covered the head bands with the same furry material. It worked really well for a halloween costume.
You might try this company..it looks like there are 4 per order? I've ordered from them before and it was a very fast delivery. You could also make them out of that foam stuff you see in the craft stores. You could make the band with sting or ribbon on the ends to tie under the child's chins.

Another idea?

i would say buy some headbands from the dollar store you get 6 in a pack for a dollar then buy some black ribbion to wrap the head bands with and then buy some black felt for the ears and staple or hot glue the ears on top of the headband!!
I don't have a pattern, but I do have an idea for something easy. Cut a long, skinny (about 2 inches wide) strip of black construction paper (long enough to go around a child's head -- you may need to tape or staple two pieces together). Then use a can of peas or soup for your pattern to cut circles for ears. Glue 2 circles onto the long piece of paper (2-3 inches apart) to make ears. When each kid arrives, have a stapler or tape handy so you can measure their "set" of ears around their head. Now you have super cheap and easy mouse ears!
I would go to Walmart's craft section and buy this black felt sheets of fabric. It's stiff enough to be used as their hats. There is also some elastic there. Of course you want the thicker elastic w/less elasticity. Meaning that it does not squeeze the childrens little heads. If you wanted to make a bow tie, I would use the same felt sheets of fabric and create a silouette of a bow tie and use velcro to attach and make it stick to the childrens shirts. Really easy set up and super in-expensive. If you would like to speak w/me, just email me at ____@____.com and we'll go from there. By the children being so young, this can be a wonderfully organized party for them and very cheap, might I add... Good Luck V.~ have a happy party. :)
Go to a craft store you should be able to purchase a pack of plain black plastic headbands then buy black foam sheets they are also sold at Walmart's. Cut out large circles for ears with a tab at the bottom large enough to wrap around the top of the headband and hot glue them on. The foam will stand up and won't bend like construction paper. The foam also comes in large sheets so you can cut maybe 3 from each sheet.
Hi V.,

You can buy cheap head bands (Target, Walmart) then glue ears made out of construction paper (or printout from an internet page of Mickey Mouse ear).
Have fun.
My very first thought for the ears would be small black paper plates that you can find at any party store and sometimes Target or Wal-Mart...depending on their stock. But a party store will definitely have the small (dessert size) plates. You could purchase a thin headbands at the dollar store and then attach the ears to the plate with clear tape. I'm working this out in my head as I write, but I think it would work. Good luck...it sounds like it will be a fun party. Have you thought of renting *unless you own* any of the Mickey Mouse movies? They'd probably sit still for a little bit anyway while you progress from one part of the party to the next...getting presents out, or after the candles are blown out and everyone has sung put on the movie while you cut the cake...a 3 year old watching a movie probably has a 20 minute or so attention span depending on the child. I hope you have a blessed event! K. K
My kids had a Mickey Mouse party a few months ago, and I went to the Disney website to come up with games and favors. They had an easy pattern for paper ears that the kids could decorate:

orientaltrading.com has them for 4 for $3.50.
We had a Minnie Mouse party for our daughter when she turned 2. It was so much fun. I actually made ears for everyone (including grandpa!) out of pipe cleaners for the "headware" and made the ears out of foamy squares. I twisted two pipe cleaners together for strength and made a little tab at the bottom of the ear which was easy to fold around the pipe cleaner and staple to the back side of the ear. We had a backyard full of mice -- of all ages!
It was so much fun! Have a super party!

I think I've seen them at Party City.
Hello, I would cut out the ears in construction paper and tape them on some dollar store headbands. Have a great party.
Ypu can go to playhousedisney.com and click on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and then click on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party Favors and you can print a cut out activity for mouse ears. The kids then can color them and if you have any stickers or peel and stick gems stones for girls they can decorate them. Hope this helps.
