Military Wife New to El Paso

You can join a MOPs group! They are great to meet many other women and kid's for your kid's to hang out with... there is a MOPs at Cielo Vista Church on the east side off of Lee Trevino... I'm hopin to talk to the chaplain to get a MOPs group goin on base cuz i just have a heart for military wives and i love MOPs too... In the meantime i hope you will check out MOPs at Cielo Vista Church... My name is H. M. and i will be there when it starts in Sept... Just wanted to say welcome to El Paso and I too am looking for a play group too. I have a 3 yr. old son and 14 & 15 year old daughters. I stay at home during the week and work on weekends when my husband is home. I live on the east side and I have some friends that I try to get together with a couple times per month to all meet at the park or Chic Filet so the kids can play and we can chat. I would love to find something more regular like a weekly play group for my son.

Have you checked into the Playgroups that are hosted by ACS on post? When we got here a couple of years ago, they had one, but I never got around to going. Ha! :) Just a thought!

military wife just moved to el paso have 13 and 14 year old boys just moved from san diego and im miserable husband just deployed over to afganistan. bored and going crazy

there are a few Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) groups around here. they have a website where you can find the one nearest you. you also might try Moms Group International. they have a yearly membership fee, but it's very cheap and they do a lot of activities every month. check out their website too.

I do not know why people would be like that to you if you are good to him and he is good to you then they should be happy for you all. CYS on post will know about Mommy and Me activities, since you're military. I too am a military spouse and a second wife. I look to FRG meetings for potential local friends for me and my kids. My kids also go to the daycare on post, and I know even SAHM's need an hour or two for themselves, so even if you don't really use it, register for CYS so you'll have the hourly care available. We came to El Paso from Colorado and we really don't like it here, but what are you gonna do? I miss Colorado mostly because of the great friends I have there, but I've met some pretty cool women here who have made it not so horrible.
