I had to wait until after delivery to get MMR. i had two vaccines as a child but body didn't produce immunity. My doctor wouldn't give it until after delivery so the baby was safe.
Has anyone here gotten the vaccines MMR (combination or one of them), Varicella and/or TD when pregnant? If so please respond. What were the effects on your baby? Did you breastfeed? How far were you in your pregnancy? Did you or your child get vaccinated again, with any negative effects? I got all these shots in the first couple of weeks of my pregnancy, and am now concerned about my newborn child.
Please tell me about your own personal experiences.
Note: My baby is now 2 months old.
Additional Details: No. I did home pregnancy tests and they were always negative. I didn't know I was pregnant when I got the shots. Only a few weeks later did I found out. The OBI GYNs that I consulted with weren't worried. But you see, what worries me is this is a fairly rare event, and not much study has been done about it as far as I can tell. That's why I'm looking to other parents who may have had the same experience. It seems no one here is in the same situation I am now. I would just like to know how it turned out for the baby. Mine seems quite healthy. But I worry about the effects that breastfeeding, certain foods and later shots like MMR (if we decide to give it to him) might have on him due to his prenatal exposure to the vaccines.
Thank you, everyone. I was hoping there'd be someone here who got the shots that I did and could tell me how their baby is doing I got MMR, Td and Varicella shots. One time only. I didn't get the rest of the series since I stopped after finding out I was pregnant.
My son is now over 2 months old. He looks healthy in every respect.. In fact, he is quite alert, active and sociable. If anything he seems to develop a bit faster than average. So far he has gotten only the Hepa B shot (first dose, at about 1 month old). Now I'm hesitant to get more shots for now during his well-check ups. We've been exposed to those viruses, and I didn't get to complete the series. I don't know if that makes him more vulnerable or not. Elsewhere, I read about pregnant women who gave birth to autistic children after getting shots during their term. But I don't know how reliable these are. I would still like to hear from other moms who actually got the shots. It would help me and my husband decide better whether to get the shots for our baby now (and if so, which), or wait until later. Our baby is doing so well now. We don't want any possible side effects to damage his body. Please, if you know anyone who got vaccines during pregnancy, share what you know. It would be appreciated.

I understand your concern! I got the flu shot when pregnant and no one told me it had thimeresol in it. The midwife even told me that it had been removed! When I spoke to my doctor about it he told me not to worry and it should not cause any harm. I think you need to speak to your doctor and try not to worry. I know its hard but I am sure your baby will be just fine.
I am assuming you did not know you where pregnant when you got the shot? I know that when I moved back to the UK from Japan I was supposed to get my shots updated, but due to the pregnancy they allowed me to move without the shots and updated them after delivery. As for breastfeeding, it has been some time now since you got the shot so I would think it would be fine, but ask your doctor to be sure.
I know that my doc ran a test to check to see if I had immunity against measles, as I had had the mumps and the long duration measles and found that I still needed a rubella vaccination. He gave it to me after delivery, not before. That was my experience. Did you tell your ob/gyn that you suspected you might be pregnant or were trying to get pregnant before the immunization? What did he say when you told him you were pregnant?
These are questions to be answered by your healthcare provider to get the facts.
Hey there,
the same thing happens to me 2 month ago in my first 3 weeks of pregnancy... I´m really concerned now.
Are there any otjher women who can tell something about?
I was not immune to those before I got pregnant and I got the shot but the Doc said DO NOT GET PREGNANT. That shot has serious birth defects. I had to wait three months before trying again. Talk to the Doc again before you do anything. I think that you have to wait until you have the baby.
If you are concerned about the heavy metal load that vaccines carry,(and rightly so) then you can get rid of those metals with NCD zeolite (Waioria brand is the only brand that has had test data to back it up)) and it is VERY SAFE and effective. Go online and type in NCD zeolite, there is a site with a doctor on there that discusses the product and how it works.
If you are concerned about the bacterial load that they can carry, and indeed, some are contaminated) then you should not take any extra Iron unless you have a CLEAR TEST RESULT OF IRON DEFICIENCY. Bacteria NEEDs your iron to live and reproduce, any extra will just grow bacterial colonies and initiate disease.
Magnesium can also help release metals out of the body.
