My 8.5 yr old daughter has a loose molar. I'm thinking she is too young to loose them am I right? Her perment molar is already pushing threw the gum as well. She also has one of eye teeth on the bottom that is in but the baby tooth is hanging in there and has for severl mths. Its like its connected the gum. Should I be concered for her other teeth because she is loosing her teeth early. Lost her first 2 at age 4. but had all her teeth before she turned 1.

What can I do next?

Children usually shed their first molars between 9 and 11 years of age. Your daughter seems to be on the earlier side of the charts, she's not way too early, she will be fine. She should be seeing a dentist regularly and you should be able to address these questions. You can find answers to dental questions on the following sites www.padental.org or www.ada.org. Next time you are at the dentist ask them for a "tooth development chart"

Children's teeth begin forming before birth.
As early as 4 months, the first primary, or baby teeth, erupt through the gums. All 20 of the primary teeth usually appear by age 3, although their pace and order of eruption varies.

Permanent teeth begin appearing around age 6. Usually the two lower front teeth are the first to be shed, meanwhile the first set of permanent molars begin to erupt behind the primary molars around the same time. This process will continue until approximately age 21.

Hi,

My son also started getting his baby teeth very early--and then lost his 1st teeth at age 4. From what I have read, there appears to be a direct correlation between getting teeth early and then losing them early. It is also perfectly normal. I was the same way, and I ended up having all my regular permanent teeth completely in by the time I turned 12. Enjoy this fun milestone, and Happy New Year!

According to my dentist, it is normal! As for the one still hanging on and the other already pushed through. My dentist says, it will fall out and the other come through when they are ready, it will not hurt nothing! good luck

Every child is different,It is when the teeth do not fall out that you have problems. My son had very straight teeth at 11 years . By 12 his perms were growiing before the baby teeth fell out. It caused severe over crowding and he needed to have 2 teeth pulled. The orthodontist was very patient with the bottom teeth and just before a pulling appointment the tooth finally fell out. He was already 13 years old.
Just let nature take its course. i think it is better for them to fall out sooner than later.By 10 or 11 you will know if she may need braces.

Good luck!
