Hi!
Can anyone recommend a good "mom & toddler yoga" dvd? I would really like to take advantage of the interest my two & 1/2 year old is showing in working out with me. I love yoga and have heard great things about the effects of yoga on young children.
Thanks for reading my request.

Core Pilates and Yoga has great "Hello Toes!" classes, one is for babies and moms, the other for toddlers and moms. They are located in the Pittsburgh North Hills, near I79 and 910.

I wish we had a place in Erie that had classes. That would be so cool. I don't have any recommendations, but I will look forward to hearing what others say cause I'm in the same situation you are!

M., where do you live? I don't know of any mom and toddler yoga classes but I have been going to a stroller fitness class in Langhorne/ Feaserville for over a year now and love it! I have met so many like minded moms and my daughter loves to get out and exercise with me and play with her little friends too! Maybe there is a class near you. Check it out: www.onefitmama.com

The librbary has been a great resource to us. If you search for baby yoga, toddler yoga, or just yoga (advanced search select dvd's only), you'll see tons. My son (2 1/2) loves the toddler section of "Baby & Toddler Yoga". We also like the "Yoga Kids" videos: we've tried #2 "A-Z Yoga" and #3 Yogakids "Silly to Calm". Its nice to get them from the library because that gives you a chance to try them out first and you can request them online (www.clpgh.org) from any library and pick them up when they are ready at your local library. Hope this helps!
Also, forgot to mention, "Curious Buddies Let's Move" has a small yoga section that my toddler enjoys.

If you are in the Pittsburgh area, there is a great class in the Strip and Shadyside. It's the same school and teacher, but they have several locations... www.schoolhouseyoga.com. I've been going since my nearly 5 year old was 6 months old. I went through 2 pregnancies and now go with all 3 kids. It's mostly smaller babies and toddlers though. The teacher has 2 kids the same ages as my older ones and there is one other mom that that has older ones as well. They usually camp out in a corner and do their own thing while the tinier ones lay, sit, or crawl around mom. Occasionally they crawl to visit a peer. The kids snack (or should I say feast) on goldfish and other such snacks and sippies. We do a beginner class and when the mood in the room dictates, we add the kids in for "baby poses." If babies are sleeping or not interested, moms can do alternative poses. If you want to integrate your child into more mommy poses, you can do that too.
