Mom of 4 Needs Private School Information

If you end up living in New Tampa, you will not have many private schools to choose from. I have noticed one affiliated with a church on Bruce B. Downs. Perhaps someone else knows what that school is called. South Tampa has some good Christian schools--St. Mary's and St. John's.

Although we have some outstanding Catholic schools in the area, I personally would not (and did not) choose that route for my own son, being that we are not Catholic. I went to Catholic school for 8 years and always felt like I didn't fit in. Although I was Christian, I wasn't Catholic.

Cambridge Christian School might be an option. On Habana in Tampa. I have my 3 year old enrolled for August.

My son goes to Wee World in Temple Terrace. It is part of the First Baptist church on 56th street. Absolutely wonderful school.

Problem will be that we have VPK and most people have registered their kids for the next school year already. I think there is only a waiting list at this time!

Most Holy Redeemer (Catholic school) has a great curriculum; however, they start at kindergarten and not pre-k. MHR is located on the corner of Florida and Linebaugh. Corpus Cristi (also Catholic) is in Wesley Chapel - maybe a little too far for you - but they start at pre-k. I have heard excellent things about this school as well. The are interperocial (sp)school that several catholic churches feed from all over Tampa. Their tuition is set by all churches that feed it. The tuition is extremely reasonable in comparison to the other catholic schools in the Tampa area.

I am enrolling my children at Citrus Park Christian school next year myself and they are not as expensive as Independent. Also apply for the Florida Pride Scholarship if you qualify. Go to FloridaPride.com or org. I too am a stay at home mom of 3 beautiful daughters.

If you are still looking for a Christian school for your children there is one on Temple Terrace. Libertas Academy, it has low ratios and the academics are excellent with low tuition and discounts for multiple children. The school is located at Davis Rd and Bullard. Bullard is Busch Blvd or Temple Terrace Hwy a couple miles past 56th st.There number is ###-###-####. My children have been at Libertas for 5 years. It is a loving and caring enviroment with a strong Christian base. Hope you check the school out.
