Hi S.,

Have you heard of the Long Beach Little Ones? They have lots of playdates around the city. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lblittleones/

Check out the MOM's Club of Long Beach. They offer playgroups as well as a host of other activities for kids and moms.

The Park has fun classes to meet new parents. Freespirit yoga has same classes to meet other mothers. I heard they have a storytime at Borders on Thurs. at 11:00am. I have not been but I'm going to try next week.

WhenI went to Free spirit yoga they had a Stroller group that meets at Starbuck's on San Anotiono and Alantic. Hope this helps

Good Luck!
J.

Hi S.,

There are some child development classes that you could take at Long Beach City College for you and your baby. You get to meet, greet, learn and play with your kids and they get to play, and meet other children in their age group.

I LOVED the Mommy & Me type classes offered thru Adult Education in Garden Grove. Long Beach Parks & Recreation offered a more structured, but still enjoyable, class also (only 15 minutes away). Classes are generally held at local elementary schools & offer many activities that you most likely wouldn't experience alone at home (like painting, gluing, glitter) with frequent field trips like bus rides, visiting a fire station, pumpkin patches, etc. All were at affordable prices. We started when my son was 18 mos. I particularly liked the fact that moms were actively involved--not like day care where the child is left on his own. Best part is we both made some life-long friends thru the various programs.
