Dr. Santiago Hoyos, in Land O'Lakes is awesome. His old practice, My Pediatrics in Bruce B Downs/I-75 area is good too.
hi everybody
i need a refferal to a pediatrician as soon as possible. people like my son's teachers are always asking me about my son's pediatrician's opinion about his delay but my answer is always the same "she doens't say anything". i have had the feeling that she is no help for my son's condition who has a severe speech delay. i am the one who search for info everywhere possible and find help as much as possible. she doesn't know nothing about his condition. and to make things worse i have heard several people complaining about her. also, the waiting time is like 3 hours even more sometimes i'm tired of this.
we had an appointment with a speech therapist this friday and as soon as we got into the room she ask us if we realized that he's breathing from his mouth. after i told the therapist that his adnoid was enflamed last year and his been having a lot of ear infections and snores a lot she recommends that we see an ear, nose and troat doctor as soon as possible cause he might need surgery. so right after that i went to my son's pediatrician to get the refferal she let us know that my son is fine. you could tell that she was not pleased about what the therapist have said. like she should be the only one to make a diagnostic. my son is having a hard time sleeping. so i need to see a doctor as soon as possible. please refer me to someone who cares. a doctor that will be concern about his case. who would try to find answers. i hope the waiting time will not be too long.
it's unfortunate that i have to change cause she's been seing my son since he was in the nicu. but i got to do what's good for my son. i am in the new tampa area. thank you

My pediatrician is Dr. Tan with Pediatric Health Care Alliance. They are in Lutz, Wesley Chapel at the end of BBD Blvd. and there are a few in Tampa and New Tampa. He is wonderful along w/the other dr.s. My son has a speech delay and he is the one who suggested to have him evaluated for ear infections, hearing, psychologist, etc. He is in early steps now and doing well. Let me know if you want to talk. P.
I am so sorry to here that this is going on with your child. It is clear that your chils needs help and unfortunatly some doctors don't always do what is best for the patient, so it is a very good idea to look for a different doctor. I take my kids to the Pediatric Healthcare Alliance in Brandon and I have never had any problems with them. They have several offices in the Tampa area. There is one on the north side of Tampa near USF, this may be close to you. You can chenk out there website:
Good Luck!!!
My sons both went to Dr. Klotch -- ENT. He is near UCH and does his stuff at TGH. Always had a pleasent experience and he is very upfront and informative.
My kids go to Internal Medicine & Pediatrics of Tampa Bay. It is on Sheldon Rd at Linebaugh. Their website is medpedstampabay.com, phone # ###-###-####. We see Dr.Zwarych and I love her, she is attentive to what I say and very good with the kids. I never have a problem getting an appt. Good Luck!
Pediatric Healthcare Alliance.
They do have an office in the New Tampa area. I am in the Citrus Park area but have been to two other locations and have been happy with all of them. Normal wait time and child friendly ped. I have two kids with speech delays. My oldest I had the same problem untill I came to this office he sent me to whatever specialist was needed. He wants to be updated on any visits elsewhere. When we went to ENT for my son we did not like him so ped gave us a referall to another. Then went over the 2 totally diffrent reports so we could make the decision. One said he needed Ear tubes and adnoids other said just ear tubes. Thanks to ped. help we went with 2nd opionion and have been happy with resaults. Also both kids are involved in speech therapy school district prior to turning 3 yrs they were with Early Steps. Both are free and they do help. Both my kids made great progress through the school district. If you need more info or need to talk email.

Hi Sarah, My name is K.. I know exactly what you are going through. You know your child better than anybody. You do not let some doctor tell you what to do where your child is concern. Here are some names of very good doctors that my children use to see and still see:
Michele Johnson at Pediatric Place
1338 W Fletcher Av
###-###-####
Dr. Thomas Andrews-pediatric ENT
###-###-####. My son at tubes put in his ears when he was 2 due to ear infections and getting sick alot. Dr. Andrews surgically removed one of the tubes in 2002, the other one fell out on its own. Plus he took out his adnoids and tonsils. My son was also snoring and breathing through his mouth.
Another doctor I would like to recommend is Dr. Jose Ferraira. Pediatric Neurologist
###-###-####
I have to boys that see him. They are diagnosed with aspergers Syndrome-13 year old
Autism-my 10 year old.
I would suggest you see him as well.
Dr. Johnson is a very good ped and she will listen to you and not tell you a bunch of BS. Hope this helps.
GOOD LUCK
Greetings Sarah, I'm not sure of where you would want the doctor's location to be but Dr. Stanley Rosenthal in Temple Terrace would be a doctor of choice. He has been my son's doctor since he was two. My son is now nine.
Keep in mind this doctor is very direct but knows what he is doing. Every time I have brought my son to him his diagnosis has been just right.
His Address is : 11410 N 56th St. Temple Terrace, Fl 33617. PH:###-###-####
I hope this will help
