I am 31 weeks pregnant with a singleton and find myself out of breath when I lean over to pick toys up off the floor. Fatigue is just one of the "blessings" of the third trimester. :)
I am almost 28 weeks pregnant with my first set of twins. I was just wondering if anyone else felt really drained and out of breath from doing simple tasks like washing dishes or doing laundry. My Doctors appt. is on monday and I will ask her too but just curious on what helped anyone else.

Congrats! I have Fraternal girls that will be 3 in May. Bedrest was the only thing that helped me. I actually only have a minute since my kids are running around the house like animals, but I am in a twins club here and they are a great source of advice, support, and anything you could ask for. Good Luck!

Although I've never been pregnant with twins, I have a friend that has been twice! I had to make her rest when she was PG because any little thing like laundry or dishes or whatever would make her so fatigued. Our doc told her to drink more water and rest more. I do have twin girls who are adopted. It is NOT as hard as people think. Best of luck and God bless!!
I have beautiful 5 month old boy/girl twins who were born at 40wks and together weighed almost 15lbs. I never had to go on bedrest, but I definitely remember the latter part of my pregnancy being very difficult as far as getting around and getting anything done. It was hard to stand for too long b/c of the weight I gained, and it was especially difficult to do anything in front of me (such as dishes, preparing food, etc..). I think that is because your posture has to be so different from what you are used to in order for you to reach the sink or the kitchen table. One thing that helped me cook is doing all the prep work at the kitchen table while sitting down (instead of the kitchen counter). Other than that, I did not find much helped me with the tasks.
Like PP said, just take it easy and take good care of yourself.
Keep it up mama, you're doing great! Just think... you're 3/4 of the way done!!!
Congratulations on the twins!!!! I have boy/girl twins that will be 3 in April. At 28 weeks, I was exhausted, but I had started with Preeclampsia. I was huge with the twins and I ended up being hospitalized at 28 weeks and delivered them at 31 weeks due to my high blood pressure and spilling protein into my urine. Bed rest was mandatory and I couldn't walk around at the hospital except to use the bathroom or take a shower.
Having multiples does put a strain on your body, so listen to it. Try taking those needed naps and put your feet up, if you have swelling, make sure you check with your dr when you go. They will most likely be watching for that as well as other things.
A lot of moms with mulitples tend to deliver early and that is ok, so don't freak out if you do. Nature tells us when our babies are ready to come out. :) I know a lot of moms of mulitples that have even went to their due date, so that is always possible.
Keep us posted and I will keep you in my prayers for a healthy and safe delivery.
Also, if you haven't taken advantage of the Moms of Twins club in your area, it would be a great idea. They will totally understand what you are going thru and are a great source of help and reference.
Take care,
God Bless,

Congratulations! I am the proud mother of 7 month fraternal twin boys! I can't tell you how wonderful of an experience it is!
Complete exhaustion is very normal at that point!! By 28 weeks just walking to my car or around the house drained me. There isn't a lot of room in there now so it is hard to take deep breaths. Also, my heartburn started getting very bad right about now.
All I can tell you is to take it slow and listen to your body. Don't over do it at this point!! I worked full time and probably did too much at the end. At the end of my 28th week I was put on strict bed rest. So take it easy!
If you haven't yet been in touch with your local twins club, I would look into that as well. It's a great resource for questions like this!
Please don't hesitate to ask me anything else...it wasn't that long ago that I was in the same place!! I'm not an expert....just someone who has been through it too!
Hi, Melissa! Congrats on your twin pregnancy! I have 22 month old twin boys. As you are describing, I was tired all the time no matter what I was doing. I would be out of breath from standing up from the couch. Definitely let your doctor know, though. Try to rest as much as possible. Especially at this stage in your pregnancy. My boys were born at 34 weeks and are healthy, but I know a few twin moms who had theirs 29-30 weeks. They are healthy now, too- just a much bigger scare at the beginning. If you're interested, I belong to 2 twin groups. They both have a monthly meeting, playgroups, MoMs nights out and email postings through Yahoo Groups. They are GREAT for posting questions you may have, or just reading others' questions. You can get a lot of info! Good luck with everything!

Hi M.,
Yes...I know what it's like to be pregnant with twins. I have 2 year old twin girls. I was very lucky to never go on bedrest while pregnant with them, but I know all too well about being out of breath. Sometimes the slightest task can take the wind out of you. Just take it easy and get as much help as possible (easier said than done). However, still mention it to your doctor. Good luck to you. And if you have any questions, please just ask.

I was only preganant w/ one at a time...and felt that way both times!!LOL
