Wow, that was a pretty unprofessional thing for your OB to say! Especially if she wants to keep any patients. I had my twin boys at 35 and was also labeled "high risk" due to age, twins, a thyroid disorder, and multiple previous miscarriages. Trust me, you will be fine! Just take excellent care of yourself, and eat a LOT of protein (especially early in the pregnancy, since you won't have room for much in your stomach later, and it is vital for carrying to term). Your sons will be 5 when these babies are born, and they will be a huge help! The fact that you already have experience with twins puts you way ahead of the game. My daughter was 4 when her brothers were born, and was a huge help holding babies on the couch and running to get diapers, etc when my hands were full. I just moved to Las Vegas myself, so I'm sorry I can't help with a referral, but I'm sure you'll find someone great. The main thing that will change your care is the fact that toward the end of the pregnancy you will be going in to see the doc every week instead of once a month or every other week like the other moms. Once you get past 32 weeks, you'll breathe a sigh of relief and start counting down the weeks till you get to term, which is 37 weeks for twins. You've got a 50/50 chance of getting that far. That is where your diet and lifestyle will come in. I'd also recommend investing in some Bradley childbirth classes. They teach a lot of really fantastic relaxation techniques that helped me SO much during labor. Join a twins club if you haven't already. The moms will be a huge source of support for you, and will give you great advice that your OB won't think of unless she has twins herself. Good luck! D.
