Any suggestions for morning sickness. I would say this part is one of the hardest humps to conquer during pregnancy. I feel sick all day everyday. It makes it really hard for me to tend to my kids, go to work, keep up with my housechores. I am moving in slow motion. Any suggestions?????

What can I do next?

I have two kids, and had horrible morning sickness with both of them (lost about 10 pounds in beginning of pregnancy with both). Some things that worked for me to lessen the sickness was sour candies. I don't even normally like sour candy, but for some reason, when I would feel a wave come on, that would help. I also wore the sea bands around my wrists that people use for motion sickness which helped a little bit. The other thing was trying not to let my stomach get completely empty, so I carried around crackers of all kinds and just took small bites whenever I thought I could get some down. As a last resort, the doctor can prescribe meds that will help, but they can't guarantee there won't be any long term effects from them, so I was too scared to take them. I just suffered through it for about 4 months, and then I started to feel a little bit better. Just make sure if you have any time that you don't feel sick that you are eating at that time. Hope this helps. Congrats on your pregnancy.

Go to the store and buy a bottle of ground ginger, sprinkle a little into juice or something you like drinking that has flavor. I DON'T recommend putting in in water only-- as the taste is horrible. Mask it in your food if you don't want to drink it. It works. I was taking pre-natal pills that were coated in ginger to help during my second pregnancy. My current pregnancy, however, I carried the ginger with me to work, in the car, home... it helped. It is what they put in the lolipops, too.

I just got over my 4 months of "All Day Sickness" and I'm so happy to be out of that stage. I had it with both my kids really bad. The best thing to do is to listen to your body and only eat what you crave. The crackers NEVER worked for me and made me worse so be sure that you're doing things based on what works for you. The good news is that it does go away and you go back to feeling good again but hang in there because it seems like a lifetime when you're going through it. The morning sickness pops are what people seem to be recomending but I think you just have to wait it out.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I feel your pain on the morning sickness. I had it for four months straight with my first one...it felt like I had the flu for four months!

I don't know that there is much you can do to make the nausea go away....though I hope some of the suggestions above will work. In the meantime, get lots of rest, eat small meals frequently rather than 3 "solid" meals...try to keep your stomach "in food" rather than getting totally empty. Get lots of rest and know that this will be over soon! Then you'll be on to the fun stage of feeling movement and NOT feeling queasy all the time.

Good luck!

Congrats! How far along are you? I'm at 12 wks and have been terribly sick, even at night. Lost 3lbs! And the only thing for me seems to be nice soft French bread with butter. I feel better as I near wk 13 and they say it goes away for the most part by wk 14. It's so different with every pregnancy that you'll just have to test what works for you. Your body is telling you to rest, so give in. Soon enough you'll have plenty of energy again.

lemon ginger tea, Yogi brand I think. I couldn't have gotten through those first few months without it.

Good luck and congratulations on the new baby
