Have you tried a little ginger? You can pick up ginger candies, cookies, or even a bottle of Ginger ale at any store.
I would give that a try that before any meds.
I need a great recommendation for a motion/sea sickness prevention that I can pick up at store?

I experience motion sickness a lot. I use an oil called Motioneaze. You can read reviews about it if you like. I used it for a dolphin cruise my daughter wanted to go on for her birthday. I was buying tickets for my husband and 2 kids and the guy asked why I wasn't going. I explained I get motion sick very easily and had even gotten sick on the ferries so I didn't want ruin it for my daughter. He said you take this (gave it to me) and said if I got sick he would fully refund my ticket. It was fabulous. You dab it behind your ears and it doesn't make you lethargic like Dramamine. You can reapply as often as you need and it's safe to use on kids as well. My sister used to have a lot of issues with car sickness too. My parents would give her Dramamine and we would have to wake her to eat. She was in a stupor the whole time (probably what my dad wanted so he could make good time. Lol!)
Anyway, everyone who I've recommended this to has had great results. You can purchase at some drugstores or whole foods, natural grocers type stores.
Blessings!

Dramanine or Bonine worked for us.
The wrist straps never did.
Bonine worked best for me for mild motion sickness. For more severe I had to get a prescription for the patch.
Dramamine will make you drowsy and lasts only 6 hours, I believe. My daughter takes Bonine which lasts 24 hours. She can take 1 per day and be covered for the ride to and from school. I bought a bottle of generic Bonine on Amazon that was a lot cheaper than buying it at the drugstore.
The meds that B listed are available OTC at any store that sells OTC meds. I took Dram amine years ago. It worked for motion sickness but made me very Sleepy. I would only take it when I didn't need to be alert.
Bonine is great. I can't stand Dramamine - it knocks me out and is miserable.
What the pharmacist told me to do with the Bonine was take a pill the night before. Then I took it again the next morning an hour before getting on the boat. I was able to eat on the boat, go snorkeling, everything. If I had taken Dramamine, I would have been laying down on the floor of the boat. (Embarrassing in front of a bunch of people you don't know!)
This was an all day boat trip and I never got nauseated. I highly recommend this medicine!
We used the bracelets when we went on a boat tour. They worked great!! You just need to get them on the pressure points. They are stretchy like a sweat band, but about the width of a rubber bracelet. You can reuse them many times.
Is it for you or for a kid?
My friend's son gets intense motion sickness. I mean on almost every simple car ride (and he's in fifth grade so it's not like he's a small kid who will outgrow it soon). They find that Dramamine works for him, but they must be religious about giving it to him and about giving it far enough in advance that it's taking effect when the ride (or plane ride or train ride or anything) begins. Check the label or ask your doctor how far before the ride to give Dramamine so it has "kicked in" by the time the motion begins.
The acupressure bracelets work great. I've worn them on boats and wore them through both my pregnancies for morning sickness as well. :)
Bonine. Way better that dramamine .
Sea Bands. Didn't work for me, but may work for you. Also Vitamin B6+unisom. Both were recommended by by OB during my pregnancies.
