Hello,

Have you checked out MOM Club International? They have a web site www.momsclub.org. I belong to the MOMS Club of Glen Burnie, but there are groups all over the place. They are all non-profit and do many activities for the kids and mommy's and service projects through out the year. For more information you can check out the web site or e-mail inquiries to ____@____.com. I hope this helps.

I don't know what religion you are but my church, St. Mary of the Mills, in Laurel, has a Mom's group which meets most Friday's. Many of the churches in the area have some form of mom's group. There is a Mothers of Preschoolers group that meets at South Columbia Baptist church in Columbia. A nice way to meet new people is preschool. There is a nice on called Playful Learning at Oakland Presbyterian church on Rte. 197. From base take 198 past the parkway for about two miles or so then left onto 197. Oakland Presbyterian is on the left side of the road, you would make a U turn at Cherry Lane and then a right into the parking lot. They accept 3 year olds and up, I think they have to be 3 by July 1. I made some of my best friends with the moms there a couple of years ago. I hope this helps!

Hi M.! I'm a member of the Odenton MOMS Club and it's so great! There are meetings twice a week, in addition to activities planned by the "board moms." I live in the Piney Orchard Community, which this group is actually designated for, but there are several moms who live in Seven Oaks by Ft. Meade that attend. I saw someone mentioned the Glen Burnie chapter, and I'm pretty sure there is a Crofton chapter as well, but Odenton I would think would be closest for you. It has a small fee of $20 a year, but that's to simply cover supply costs for the numerous activities throughout the year. They even have a moms night quite often, and a babysitter exchange. There's a website www.momsclubofpineyorchard.org, it would be great to see you at the next playgroup! Kids range in age of newborn to 5 or 6. My son is only 4 months old, but loves going to watch the older kids run around. And all the moms just exchange advice and hang out for a couple hours, but you are free to come and go as you please. I usually only stay about an hour each time and I don't always attend both days. Check out the website for more info!

Are you military or DOD? Ft Meade has a wonderful activity on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 called Romp N Stomp. It is in the CDC to the right of the Reece Rd gate. They have a gym with all kinds of equipment to climb on, ride on, play with. Usually attended by 50-60 kids (plus moms). Great place to meet other moms.
