Music for a Mother Daughter Dance Piece

I am a choreographer preparing for a performance, looking for a special piece of music for trademark choreography with parents and children and we have performed this annually since my first daughter was born. I look for heartfelt, touching music and have used pieces such as Let them be Little, Child of Mine, by Carol King, Turn Around, by Rosemarie Clooney, Lasso the Moon by Art Garfunkel and last season was "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride. Each piece we have done Does anyone have a piece of music that comes to mind? It needs to be touching and something that really touches the audience. Thanks in advance! It was this site that someone suggested In My Daughter's Eyes and there wasn't a dry eye in the house! We have found some that would be appropriate with Dad's dancing with their daughters, but this year we have Mom's dancing with various aged children and an expectant Mommy.
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the wonderful responses. There were a number of suggestions that we have used in the past or were very mainstream. We found a really beautiful song called "Every Mother's Dream", which will most likely become popular for weddings and other momentous ocassions. Our dance piece had an expectant Mommy, me with my two young girls, a Mom with a teen, a college grad with her Mom and an engaged dancer with her Mom. (She wore her mother's bridal gown, too) The timeline touched on phases from birth to marriage and all were real life milestones current to the performers in the piece...There wasn't a dry eye in the house!

The first thing that came to mind was Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance" and I see that others thought of that as well. Great song, and very touching.
Another song I have always loved is "Somewhere Out There" from the kid's movie American Tale, or "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, and also "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder

Hello J.,

I recently found this fun site http://www.playlist.com/HomeOfficeMommy/dashboard picked out a few of my favorites, and man did my daughter and I ever rock out???? Then I came across Nikki's article http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1996380/where_to... and found even more fun songs that we'll have to try out. Between these two I do trust you'll find something worth considering, or at least worth your enjoyment!

The first song that came to my mind is I Hope You Dance. I have always loved that song and I always think of my daughter when I hear it. Good luck with your selection and let us know what you decide. I would love to see a link on YouTube if you want to share.

When my son was born, my husband edited the video with the song "The reason" by Celine Dion.
Everybody who sees it cry!

This song might be too slow in tempo for them to really dance to but for our wedding dance with each of our parents my husband and I used "I Am Your Child" by Barry Manilow. Now that I have kids of my own it always makes me cry.

Good luck,
K.
