We are actually getting a Lhasa Apso she is a cocoa brown color.

I wanted to name her Mercedes and nn her Sadie as that is what my 3rd baby girl's name would have been or Anabelle (a name I almost gave my 1st). My dd nixed it and said, she'll just have those names for her dds one day (mind you she is only 6) LOL.

What about Ethel?

What can I do next?

Go with whatever is fun and sounds good to you. Ethel may be perfect. Our family dog growing up was Gus and it suited him perfectly.

Too funny on your daughter claiming those other names, BTW!

Lhasa Apso's originally came from Tibet where they guarded Buddhist temples. What do you think about Dharma or Lotus or something along those lines?
I do like Ethel as well. A pretty uncommon name for sure! Good luck and let us know what you decide!

I LOVE Ethel! So unique and different, and guaranteed she will live up to the name! If I were you, I would nix the other two, and go with the fun, kinda cooky Ethel (who else could have helped Lucy with all of her crazy schemes)!

We dont have 'it' yet (not sure if the dog will be a boy or a girl) but when I get my pomeranian I am naming 'it' Oodles. I have had the name picked out forever and I swear that is what I am naming the dog when we get it
Good Luck

I love Cocoa. It makes me think of Channel. And it is a cute name for a Lhasa. A friend of mine had a Lhasa and her name was Shalley. Which she found on the back of a carpet sample color.

Ethel is good, however it is awkward to shout out the 'thel' syllable, so if you may need a name that's easier to call out in case she gets loose.... Anabelle would be nice too, but it is better saved for a future grandchild. How cute that she called dibs on them. We have 3 cats; Skittles, Maharet, and Kiki, and a Toy F. Terrier called Hollyberry aka Dogita or 'gita.

How about Cassy, Elena, Kettlerley, Tiger Lily (from Peter Pan!), Elfie, Astrid, Estelle, or Adeline? Naming pets is so much fun. :-)
