Hi moms! So, I'm not exactly looking to lost weight - just firm up a bit. I dont have room for equipment and i cant afford a gym so im looking at videos. Turbo jam looks awesome but is on the expensive side. I think i want something with some cardio - ive done yoga and pilates but im looking for something more active but beyond just jumping jacks and crunches. Any ideas? and anyone know what zuma is?

What can I do next?

I love using Barrys Bootcamp. It was about $70 and the bands and ball come with it for that. You can do as little as 20 minutes or more if you have time. I have seen Target carry it for about $56. I lost 25 lbs and built muscle and toned where I never thought I would.

Try netflixs. They have workout videos, you keep them as long as you want and when you want a new one send the old one back.

I am planning on doing this very soon.

Turbo Jam is awesome. My husband bought me a one off of EBAY. It was much cheaper than buying it from the company. J.

If you go on Ebay you can buy some turbo jam dvd's by themselves. If you just want to tone up, you don't need to be on a "program" like it is when they sell the whole thing in a big package. I like Turbo Jam, Billy Blanks Tae Bo is fun too, I also have the 10 minute trainer DVDs, and just about every one from Jillian Michaels. Just build up your library cheaply by buying on ebay, at garage sales, etc. That way, once you get bored with something, you can move on to something else. The Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is awesome. You sweat like a pig but it's only 1/2 hour long so it's quick & easy. It also comes highly recommended by everyone.

You can also rent from netflix so you can decide which ones you like enough to spend the money on.

Hope I helped a bit!

We recently released a yoga video that is great for parents and toddlers - and the parent section continues to work even when your children are no longer toddlers, or before they reach it.
It is called TOT YOGA and you can find it online at http://totyoga.com and amazon.com or at retailers in NY and DC.

I love the walk away the pounds DVD's and you can probably rent them from a Library or by one for under 10. Also a great place for work info and support is a free web site called Spark People. Here's a link if you want to check it out.

I, too, am a big Turbo Jam fan. At twice your age and with some health problems that prohibit me from high-impact exercises, I find Turbo Jam to be easy to do, but also a great work-out at the same time. It has cardio, along with toning and firming. I have had great results. For me it was worth the money, but you can find it cheaper on e-bay or Amazon.

I love "The Firm" videos. You can buy sets on TV, and they also have various items at Target. I have the "Fanny Lifter" (a step) and the sculpting stick (a weighted bar) and several videos that go with them. You also use light dumbbells in conjunction with a lot of the vidoes. I have had great results with these. The only product I was disappointed with was "The Wave" set advertised on TV. It seemed like an accident waiting to happen with a curved step that you rocked on! Plus, none of it takes up a lot of room.
Good luck!

Turbo Jam IS awesome!!! Its a lot of fun and it tones you right up if you do it 3 or more times a week!! Its well worth your money!! I love it and I am looking forward to the new set coming out in May of 2010 called Turbo Fire which will be a little harder than the regular Turbo Jam. I am having my fourth and will be starting Chalene Extreme right after the baby's born and then Turbo Fire as soon as it comes out! Good Luck shopping!

Hi A.,

I very much like callanetics. It does not focus on your weight but toning your muscles, and tones the core muscles, which then in turn tones your other muscles. The link is below. I have only done the "10 Years Younger in 10 Hours" but it looks like they have come out with newer videos as well. I found it took 60 times of doing it (60 days) and then I noticed a very dramatic difference from that point on. I have never changed what I have eaten, only worked out. This workout WILL work but you have to stick with it. After a couple of months you will notice a very dramatic difference suddenly, at least that is my experience. The only one I can speak to is the "10 Years Younger in 10 Hours" video, and that is the one I highly recommend.

If you have On Demand, try looking at your free offerings. I know ATT has Exercise TV (and I thought Comcast had something like it too). There is a ton of different workouts on there from just abs for 10 minutes to hour long cardio workouts and yoga. They have alot of popular trainers on there as well. It might help you find a type of workout or particular trainer that you like. There is so many, it is nice to just change it up and it is FREE!

If you don't have it, try your library. Or Amazon.com/Ebay and you could get used videos for alot cheaper.
