Need a Good Stylist

Does anyone have the name of a good stylist in the Olathe/Gardner area or at least some tips to help me control my hair? Ever since I was pregnant with my son, my hair has gotten more and more curly. I straigten my hair pretty much every day with a blow dryer and flat iron and no matter what I do it gets fried within a couple of weeks of getting it cut. I wouldn't mind wearing it curly instead of straight, but every time I go to a stylist, they never believe that its curly and won't show me what to use or how to use it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have curly hair too and Tracy King is just awesome. She works out of her house and will work with you as much as you need. Her number is ###-###-#### and she lives off of Blackbob and 145th. Tell her that D. Collins sent you. Oh and she is very reasonable!

I used to bounce around from stylist to stylist until I found Kelly Cordray in Gardner. She has built a salon with a side entrance on her garage. Prices are very resonable. She is incredible at styling, cutting and color. Her days off are Sunday and Wednesday. Check her out, she is hip and will give you great styling advice. Her number is ###-###-####

Hey G.,

It took me 40 years to just accept my curly hair and now I enjoy it sooooo much! But you are right, you have to have a good cut and the right products go along way.

I go to Connie Campbell who works out of her home in Olathe. She owned her own shop for years, but has little ones so now works from home. Her number is ###-###-#### (I think) or I think she's listed as Salon Chalet.

I also just let my hair go and don't try to straighten it anymore, well except for my bangs. But I use either John Frieda's Dream curls that I just spray in and scrunch OR Frizz Eaze Moose.

Good Luck.

I go to the Design company on Main Street in Gardner (the strip mall by Tumbleweed). Teresa is my stylist and Kerri in there is very good also. ###-###-####.

I have curly hair that is mostly just frizzy and wavy on top with more curl as the layers go down until there are ringlets at the nape of my neck. I have a terrible time finding styles that work for the curly and straight look, so I completely understand. Unfortunately, I don't have a stylist to recommend. I have found that using Matrix Sleek Look helps, though.

One suggestion - what kind of straightener do you use? I know there are a bunch of knock-off ceramic straighteners out there now that are cheap - $30-$50 or so I think? - but if you use a CHI with the serum, it shouldn't fry your hair. The blow dryer may be doing it, too. I usually wash my hair at night so it is mostly dry by morning and I can straighten it without blow drying much if at all. The CHI is expensive, but it lasts forever and is incredible!! Good luck!
