Hello Moms,
A friend and I are in charge of the games during our 4th graders Christmas party at school. Are there any games out there that are fun and they will enjoy playing? I think we'll have 15-20 minutes, so a couple different ones that are quick would be great. I'm looking for something different than the old stand bys like heads up 7up, charades...etc.
Thanks a bunch!

What can I do next?

I have a couple for you. One game I played with my daughter's class was "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree." I took red plastic cups and colored the inside bottom of 3 with a marker. Those were the cups with the "ornaments" inside. I then stacked them in the shape of a tree on top of a cheap tree skirt. We danced in a circle to the song of the same name. When the music stopped, everyone had to grab a cup. The ornament cups were the winners. It was a hit! Who doesn't love to dance?! The other game, I took a 2' x 4' piece of plywood and cut snowman eyes, nose, and mouth out of. I then painted it to look like a snowman. You can either make a square frame to hold it up or place it against a kids chair on the carpet. I then made beanbags using funky pattern pantyhose(Xmas) filled with rice and tied off on the ends with rubber bands or ribbons. I have made a pumpkin for Halloween party as well. Good luck!

Try picking up cotton balls (ie... snow, my kids call it Frosty's poop) with straws and placing them in a cup.
We do this as a relay or we do relay races with spoons and the first to fill a container with the cotton balls wins, I always shove the cottonballs down so it takes longer, kids usually love this game.
Or I have them decorate gingerbread houses and whomever is the most creative wins, again I do this in teams.

Goodluck

One cute game that the kids will love...
You need two pair of gloves (that are the same) and a chocolate candy kiss for each child
Have the kids sit (Indian style) in 2 lines facing each other with the kiss on the floor right in front of them. First 2 kids put on the gloves, open the kiss, eat the kiss, take off the gloves, and pass the gloves to the next kid to do the same, all the way to the end of each line.
This game requires not prize because the kiss was the treat and everyone just cheers each other on and big cheers for the team that finishes first.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey comes to mind. How about also hitting a pinata filled with Christmas candy?

4th graders would enjoy doing Mad Libs. You could make up a Christmas story and have them blindly name parts of speech and then read teh silly Christmas story. Also if you get ahold of some elf or santa costumes, you could have a relay race to get dressed and undressed. Another game is to have everybody sit in a circle and pass a jingle bell around the circle behind their back. One kid hides their eyes and sits in the center or off to the side, but when the music stops, they have to decide who is holding the bell behind their back.

Go to crayola.com and download the christmas bingo cards, the kids love it and it goes pretty fast. Or you could have a Christmas spelling base ball, each team has x amount of players. certain desks are the bases but you walk not run to the next base. If the word is spelled wrong you get 3 strikes then your out and the next player is up. We did this in school as a child and we all loved it.
