Hi all!
We have just relocated to the San Antonio area. I had HELLP Syndrome (www.hellpsyndrome.org) with my first pregnancy and they had to deliver my baby at 30 weeks. My doctor in Dallas said we could do some extensive testing to see if it would FOR SURE happen again or if it might. There's no guarantee that it won't. Anyway - I am looking for a OB/GYN here who specializes in high risk and is up to date with the latest and greatest research. Any recommendations would be great!!!!

I picked after very good research. And i think i made the right choice. He is very up to date with the latest technology.
I was pregnant with twins. Since i was in my 30s i wanted to get some of tests done to see if my babies very healthy and didn't have down syndrome without doing the Aminocentesis. He knew about the nuchal test (its done through ultrasound) in the early stage (around 10 or 11 weeks)
And one of the twin was lagging back in the growth chart and he kept very close watch. He had told us as the pregnancy progressed that one baby is stressing out so i would deliver the babies soon. And before a week the girls came he gave me the steriod shot(Glucocorticoids) for the fetal lung development. So when my girls were born they were in the NICU only to learn to be outside in the normal temperature and learn to suck out of a bottle and breastfeed. They were not on any medications or tubes when they born at 34 weeks.
And also I had gestational diabetes
The point is he was on top of things.

Dr VanWingerden is great shes been with me through my last 2 pregnancies My daughter was born full term but she was very small and my third pregnancy I had really extremely high BP and my son was born at 25 weeks still BUT it wasnt Dr Van's fault I was seeing a perinatologist also but Dr Van is a high risk dr shes been around the block a couple times. She also has two offices shes downtown mon tue wed and fri and shes out at Stone Oak on Thursdays. Shes very upfront and tells you how it is.
