We are about to have our first child and need some good recommendations for pediatricians in the Keller/Southlake area. I am looking for a doctor that will be flexible with shot schedules and all of our reservations about shots in general. Any help would be great. thanks

Dr. Erica Zwernemann (aka Dr. Z) is at Southlake Family Medicine. She is my 3rd pediatrician since my daughter (6 yrs.) was born. I drive from Bedford to see her and we just love her. She always takes her time with me and my daughter. I never feel like "just another appointment".

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Pierre Robert in Grapevine at Grapevine Pediatric Clinic by Baylor Hospital. He is wonderful in every way and would be a perfect fit for what you are looking for. (We did not do shots all at once, either). He only takes families with new babies now, so you are in luck!

DO NOT go to Dr. Knapp or Dr. Nichols at Cook's in Southlake. They are both terrible and we left there.

We have found an amazing pediatrician just a tiny bit further in Grapevine. (next to Baylor)Dr William Pierre Robert is fabulous! We were looking for a doctor who would be flexible with the shot schedules, and he is so flexible that no shots is an option as well. He will give the the info on them and even recommends waiting before giving them. He is also open to natural healings and even recommended probiotics for us to take. Also has a great bedside manner, just love him!

I went to Dr Robert Pierre/ Grapevine in Dec 2010 and I must say that I was NOT IMPRESSED nor was I happy with him. He barely took the time to listen to me. And just brushed me off as a parent with unnecesary worries, even after I told him that my daughter was not eating and was losing weight. Instead of doing some tests to figure out what was going on, He sent me home with zytec, and told me to give her zytec daily for 3 months. 3 months???? I went to another doctor and come to find out that my daughter had severe food allergies that were hurting her stomach because of the acid build up. Not good with parents & definitely not caring enough to be a pediatrician.

I'm not sure how flexible she is with shot schedules, but we LOVE Dr. Matlock with Cook's on 1709. Her number is ###-###-####.

I would also strongly recommend against Kidcare. We have has very negative experiences with them regarding several issues such making me feel that I had to supplement with formula even though I didn't want to, poor billing procedures, charging extra for ridiculous "advice," and blowing off my concerns about my infant daughter's not eating (turned out she had severe reflux) and my son's speech delay.

We absolutely love, love, love our pediatrician, Dr. Benzick at Southlake Family medicine. However, the only new patients I think he's accepting are newborns. Dr. Erica Zwernemann is also at Southlake Family medicine, and we have seen her before when Dr. Benzick was unavailable. She was great, too. I'm not sure whether she is accepting new patients as she's not are main pediatrician. Dr. Hunt recently joined their pediatric staff within the past year, and we have seen her as well, and I really liked her. I know that she's accepting new patients. The staff is caring and wonderful. Dr. Benzick is thorough, friendly, great with the kids, and you can tell he loves kids and his job. Nurse Judy just rocks there, too. All the pediatricians on staff are great there with the exception of Dr. Johnson. He seems to be a very competent pediatrician, but with my personal experiences with him, he seems to be a little "rough around the edges" and doesn't always seem to listen... just my personal experience. Other than that, we LOVE it at Southlake Family Medicine. Good luck with your search. I know it's an important one.

Dr. Vanita Shori is great. She is part of the Cooks Network. I have done a delayed schedrule for my kiddos and she is understanding. Don't expect her to suggest delaying but she will work with you. Overall, my kids get excellent care and wouldn't want anyother doctor.

He's really wonderful with the kids. He's very patient and caring. He never pressures me to get vaccines. He tells me what the kids are required to have and if I choose not to get them he doesn't say anything more about it or try to make me feel guilty for not getting them. My kids love him.

We love Dr. Jason Terk with Cook Childrens in Keller! He's very direct and no nonsense with parents, which some people don't like, but he's fantastic with kiddos. He talks to them instead of at them, which I love. Good luck!

We chose to skip two different vaxes but did the rest and could find NO ONE in the area to do them. Cooks told me I had to do them when I called. I take them to TCOM med school clinic in FW and see Dr. Matches. She's really good and is fine with me skipping some (all if I wanted to). The negatives are the drive and the wait and she only works 9-1 or something like that. I usually get a 9 one and it works out best. Her clinic is on Montgomery attached to the med school...

Dr. Roger Knapp or Dr. Nichols (they're in the same practice together) and are part of Cook's Children's Physician's Network. They have ALWAYS been awesome for us and I love the fact that Dr. Knapp doesn't just prescribe medicine for everything ... he actually listens to you and the symptoms. He keeps it real, has a GREAT bedside manner for the kids and you can even e-mail him if you have questions! Their office is on Southlake Boulevard on the north side of the road just west of Whites Chapel Blvd.

I use Dr. K at Dr K's Kids in Southlake near Big Lots. I do NOT recommend Kid Care Pediatrics or Dr. Nichols at Cook Children's, if that helps you any.

Dr. Pierre Robert at Grapevine Pediatrics in the professional building at Baylor Grapevine. He is awesome and really knows a lot about nutrition and more natural medicine if you ask him. Also you are doing a great thing researching all of the vaccines and considering slowing down the schedule. I wish I had done more research earlier on.

I second Dr. Robert. He is wonderful. Always takes time to answer questions, never makes me feel stupid. My son has received all vaccinations, but I was hessitant on a few of them. So Dr. Robert worked with me on delaying a few and spreading them more out. He was completely fine with it, and he even suggested it without me having to ask him. He also saves a lot of time in his schedule for sick children's appointments. I've gotten in the day I've called every time but once and even then I still got in the same day to see his nurse practitioner.
