My name is J. I am the mother of a 3 yr old little boy who is will be starting pre k in the fall of this year. Right now he attends Kids R Kids off of Johnson Ferry Rd where he has been for over a year now. We absolutely LOVE LOVE this school and are the care and affection he recieves there. We were over joyed when we realized that they had a GA funded pre K program until for very understandable reasons stopped it this year. My husband is a chiropractic student and our income is limited so we can not afford private preschool for him. I need some feed back from other parents who can suggests ga pre k program that they have been happy with. I have been somewhat disappointed in what I have researched and seen so far and need some HELP!! We just love our school and nothing has compared. Please let me know ones you recommend and don't recommend. Greatly appreciated. I am overwhelmed!

What can I do next?

Many private preschools offer scholarship programs. I know the one at our church does, but it is only 9-12 pm. If you live near a church preschool program that may be an avenue to investigate.

The Goddard School off of Sandy Plains/Trickum Rd has an excellent program. We live right near the Kids R Kids on Johnson Ferry and couldn't get our son in because we moved here mid-year a couple years ago. We looked at many places and decided it was worth the drive (complete opposite direction from my work!)to have our son in a program where he is happy and the teachers are excellent. He is now in pr-K there and we are all happy. Good luck!

Hi J.! I am also a mom & a wife of a Chiro student (Life U), nice meeting you :o) I am not sure about PreK programs in Marietta, since I live in Acworth. But, I have a couple of sugestions:
1. A Child's Place of Cobb (57 Merritt St, Marietta)is a GREAT place, I am not sure if they have PreK GA program, but you can always call and ask ###-###-####. Did I said this place is awesome, yes, is so great the they usually (and sadly) have a waiting list. I know of at least 3 more Life U students take thier kids there.
2. Allatoona Elementary (which is in Acworth) is opening PreK program this upcoming school year. My older daughter goes to this (public) school and we like it very much.
3. Life University allows for an "increase for childcare" on student loan, if your husband is interested he can get like $800 more a quarter for each child.

Well, hope that helps, feel free to PM me if you would like to talk more :o)

You may want to look into a primrose school. My daughter is in the one in woodstock and doing very well. Ideally, however, all schools should provide your child with the same education since the GA pre-k dictates what and how they teach.

Hello,

My daughter is finishing up her pre-k year. She attends Primrose at East Lake off Roswell Rd. They are a private school also GA funded and she went from 8:00am to 2:30pm for free. To keep her at school longer we had to pay $115.00 a week. It was called the before and after club. We are very happy with the school and she learned a lot. My husband is also in the DC program so we are also on the same income. When we moved here she started at Lighthouse Academy. I would not recommend that school. I am glad to hear about the additional child care money we can get at LU. Thanks
