I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a fun girls night out? I have a family member coming in town that is turning 50 and I want to take her and some friends out for some fun, but something different. There will be gals in different age groups..late twenties all the way up to mid sixties. It's a fun bunch..but I am in charge of planning it all and could use some ideas! She really deserves a special night..a mom who never ever does anything for herself and has a crappy husband to boot.I really want to make it special for her, so any ideas would be much appreciated!

What can I do next?

You could host a scrapbooking or Cardmaking workshop. I would love to come to your house and do a workshop. I can show you how to do both cardmaking or scrapbooking. Please let me know how I can help. ____@____.com or http://pmyers.stampinup.net

I went to a low-key bachelorette party a while ago where there were women of all ages...we went to The Piano Bar down on the plaza. It's across from The Cheesecake Factory, I believe. It's really neat there! You can have dinner and drinks all at the same place, and they have pianists that play popular songs on the piano and sing...It's really entertaining and not at all corny. They get the crown involved, and demand an upbeat atmosphere. I was pregnant at the time and couldn't partake in drinking, but I still had a blast, and laughed through the night!

I've always wanted to do a Girl's Night Out at our local All Fired Up. You can create fun pottery/ceramics/glass and bring your own wine and snacks!! No loud bar scene and you can hear each other chat while you are painting. The projects can be as easy or as detailed as you like, so no real skill is involved.
Good luck planning!

What about the comedy club at Zona Rosa, I've heard its really great or there is a improve comedy place downtown called Sportz Nuts or something like that (sorry I can't remember off the top of my head). Its actually a very fun place to go and tickets are really pretty cheap.

You all could do a day of beauty at a local spa (or one of the beauty schools, a lot less $), and then go out on the Plaza (for dinner and drinks). Another idea is to do a wine tasting (JP's wine bar, Boozefish, Cellar Rat....), check out the galleries in the Crossroads, and go to one of the restraunts down there (Lidia's, City Tavern, Jack Stack).

They have a girls night out special at The Melting Pot on the Plaza. I am not sure what night it is but it would be worth checking out. It is $30 per person for the whole thing. If you have never been there it is a lot of fun.
