Sam Moon in Frisco has packages of children's braclets or hairbows. The "Dollar Bins" at Target also have really cute stuff sometimes.
Hi Moms,
I am going to South Africa in three weeks on a mission trip. We will be working with about 90 children at an orphanage there and meeting many other people, I'm sure. We're encouraged to bring little trinkets to pass out to kids. I'm thinking something along the lines of small bracelets or bookmarks, etc. I need about 100 and whatever I take needs to be light-weight and compact enough to pack.
If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Or, if you hear of any sales I need to check out, please pass them along. Lastly, if you live in McKinney and have some new gift bag toys/items leftover from a party and they're just stashed in a closet and you think you'd like to donate them, I can pick them up.
Thanks, in advance! I'm sure you mommas have some great advice to help me out!

Check out the site and see what they have to offer. There's a TON of stuff there that you could use.
Their store is in Plano on Parker and Independence. Their prices are reasonable, too.
Have you looked on oriental trading company's website? They have some inexpensive toys you can buy in bulk.
I'm going to Cape Town next week. I'm taking old clothing, ink pens, thread, tape, peppermint candies...
Hi,
My friend recently returned from the same type of trip to South Africa. She spent time at an orphanage also. She agrees that Oriental Trading Company has some great things...cheap and small. She also said a favorite they LOVED was those small foam cutouts with sticky backs (for crafts) and also string and beads. She said she enjoyed those with the children the most, because it was interactive with the kids...she would sit and make bracelets and they would love the company and talk so much! She said they will love whatever you bring, but truly want the interaction more than anything. She also said decks of cards and UNO were great fun to teach them and play with them.
Good Luck!!
