I am looking for ideas on a location to have my daughter's professional pictures taken this weekend. I was thinking of having them done at the Chicago Botanic Garden, however, looking at their website, there is a $125 dollar permit fee to do so. (Yikes)! I would like a place that has flowers and such; things that showcase the Spring season. Somewhere in the NW suburbs, or even Lake county would be fine too. Thanks!
I don't know exactly where you are, but Independence Grove in Libertyville on Rte 137 is beautiful.
Or you can try Volo Bog on Rte 12.
The forest preserve on Fairfield and 176 is gorgeous and has beautiful buildings with gardens.

I think it's called the Garfield Conservatory. It's an indoor garden located in Chicago. It was free to get in (u could donate a $2 or so). I'm not sure if they have a "permit fee" .
But google it, that might help.
In Lisle is the Arboretum which is pretty and has a kids area to which little ones can play. Also, In Winfield is Cantigny Park (some days it is free to enter)...they alway have pretty settings. I know both of these are the western suburbs, and there is an entrance fee, but I think the Arboretum might be worth it.

I will agree with the other posts on Independence Grove in Libertyville. I got married there and people always comment on how beautiful our pictures are as well as they still talk about our wedding and how gorgeous the location was. This time of year is a great time. Have fun!!
I have heard good things about Independance Grove in Libertyville (hot spot for many people when they get married) and I have had some personal family pics done at the Lake County forest preserve off 176 in Wauconda, back by the lake. Our was done in the Fall, but there were some pretty trees and park benches, not to mention the lake and paths where you can get some active pics, but maybe now being Spring they may have some more flowers. Otherwise, I know a lot of highend business parks have great landscaping and on a weekend, no one is around (LOL), if you have a camera, the flowers and neat decorations maybe just what you need, if you can find a spot that doesn't have the buildings in the background! ;) Just a thought....
Do you already have a photographer? They usually have location ideas. I should know... I am one. Where are you located? Are you by St. Charles? There are tons of beautiful places in this area. It just depends on what you want and how far you want to drive. I am located in Huntley and there are wonderful parks up by me ( I love Dieke Park). How old is your daughter? There is a place called The Milk Pail in East Dundee that has a gazebo, etc. that people use for weddings. You can have lunch there too, as it's a restaurant.
