I've got a great stylist at The Studio in Manhattan Beach. Her name is Leda. The shop is located next door to John Post's studio on Manhattan Avenue.
Help. My daughter and I need a new hairdresser. My daughter is 12yrs old and has long curly/frizzy hair. We've gone to different hair-dressers, but they criticized her frizz and made her feel bad. Which is why we wouldn't go back. My hair was that way when I was younger, but from straightening it so much, it's calmed down. Now my daughter inherited the same frizz....any referrals?
thank you... my daughter and i are following up and will keep you posted

Branka Ward, owner of Mud Honey Salon in Manhattan Beach. My family has been going to her for the past 15 years. I drive all the way from Montebello just to see her. I've gone to other places that people have recommended, and it just isn't the same.

I get my hair done at the JC Penny styling salon at the Del Amo Mall. The staff there is great and they are very professional. I would recommend calling and asking which stylist would specialize in her type of hair. The service is wonderful and prices are very reasonable. Good luck.
I have curly, frizzy hair and it's so hard to find a hairdresser who knows how to cut and style it. I found a wonderful hairdresser in Manhattan Beach. She's at a salon called Illusions on PCH just south of Marine. Her name is Debbie Kovack. The number is ###-###-####.
I used to go to a snooty salon in Los Angeles to have my hair done. I hated going because of the atmosphere, but because of the nature of my hair, I didn't know where else to go. I love Debbie because not only does she doe a great job, but she's fun and easy to be with. So going to get my hair done is an enjoyable experience. Debbie also has quite a few nieces, and she watches them a lot, so she has a great understanding of how to interact with young women.
Hope this helps!
Take care,
B.
I have a great hair dresser in Hermosa Beach. She is the Best!! I've been going to her for the last 8 years. I get stopped in the street repeatedly to ask where I get my hair cut. The great thing is that your 12 year old will love the shop. It is very "edgy" in a 50's/rocker style motif. Any ways....
The name of the shop is Ultralux, the stylist name is Tricia who is one of the two owners of the shop. The number is ###-###-####. Tell her R. sent you.
Good luck
Hi There, I have also had super curly/frizzy hair too. There is a great website for you and your daughter to check out: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons. They have a list of salons that cater to curly haired people, plus lots of other good information to make you both happy you have curls.
Good luck, L.

i've been going for years to marqui for my cuts. she is an AWESOME girl and a fab hair stylist. she did my wedding hair as well. i have long, curly hair that only started to look good after she cut it. i feel your pain. she is very approachable and kind. will also help with product advice, too. a bit on the pricey side, i think $100 is her going price, but i love her. good luck!

I have a very good referral for you, however, she isnt in that area. she is in Covina. She has the SAME type of hair and knows how to work with it. Her name is Vicky, the place is called Niko's Cutting Zone, Phn: ###-###-####. Everyone i have referred to her is very happy with her work - even men. she does a great job and doesnt cost a couple of hundred like most hair dressers.
