I bought an LG over a year ago and I love it. It does everything I need and I haven't had any problems. Good luck.

Hi Mama's
My washing machine died yesterday so I would love some advice on what is the best kind to get. I would love to get the front loading kind but any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

Thanks to all of you that replied! We actually went with the
Bosch" washer and dryer. It's only been two day's but so far we love them! I can't believe how quiet they are and how fresh the clothes come out! Thank you all so much again for all of your help.

I bought the LG Tromm last year and I love them. I replaced my ONLY 4 year old maytag neptune that broke. It was a lemon for sure. I had it repaired 2 twice in that 4 year period also. THankfully it was under warranty. Good luck with your shopping.

If I had my choice I would probably buy a bosch front loading. The dryer doesn't even need to be vented as its a condensation dryer.
I do have a front load washer and I love it. I bought for economy the Kenmore full size front loader. The dryer as well. They also have a stacking option for more room. They are great! My mother purchased the whirlpool and loves it, however I find all the buttons on it a little intimidating.
I can't help with a suggestion for a brand.
But ... you can probably save some money, if you go to a store with price matching (like Lowe's).
I know someone who found what they wanted at a local store, then checked prices on the internet using the "My Shopping Genie". They found it for $300 less than the store, and took the ad to the store, and the store matched the internet price.
Just download the Genie at:
www.myshoppinggenie.com/easyshop
Then, go to any search engine (like Google) and put in what you are looking for.
PS. Any of you Mamas can download this Shopping Genie for all kinds of internet shopping savings.
Good Luck.
Almost 2 years ago, we had to replace our washer and dryer. We wanted front loading machines and went with the Kenmore Elite (QuietPak4). They had 3 levels of machine at the time and we went with the mid level option as I didn't need the additional features on the highest priced machines. The machines have been fantastic with absolutely no problems. I do have two recommendations regardless of which brand you purchase: 1. Purchase the risers that go under the machines. They are back savers as you don't have to bend almost to the floor to put laundry into and out of the machines. They raise the machines to a perfect height and add storage in the drawers. (Measure the height of your space first to make sure that the machines with risers will fit under cabinets/shelving.) 2. Make sure to leave the washer door open after doing your laundry. This will allow the machines to dry and will prevent stinky mildew growth.
I would call your repair person and ask them what they suggest. My person will tell me when I call him. He always checks my appliances out first to make sure we can not fix it. He owes Collin County Appliance Service. I have used him almost first the beginning of his company.
We just bought front loading LGs at Frye's-- they were delivered last Friday. They were well rated by Consumer Reports and we thought out of our price range until we stumbled upon a great sale on them there. I would caution you to carefully measure your space! I have a tiny laundry room. These machines have greater capactities so they are much deeper than my old machines. Plus with front loading, the doors open in the front (obviously). I have discovered that with my laundry room door across from my appliances, and since my door opens into the laundry room, I cannot use my appliances unless my laundry room door is shut. Also, they installed mine with the washer on the right which is the way my old appliances were-- however, they are positioned so both doors open toward one another. I so wish my washer were on the left, so that the doors opened away from each other and I could more easily move clothes from one machine to the other. Come the think about it, that may have solved my laundry room door problem, too? I did ask him to set them up that way, but I don't think he understood me because he did not do it that way. When he showed me the machines they were all hooked up and he was test running the washer so I did not say anything-- should have been more assertive. Oh well. Good luck!

I would go with a front loader and get the platform riser drawers.
We chose to go with a Whirlpool top-loading Calypso set because it was on sale (and sooo much less expensive than the front-loaders we were looking at). They have served us well, although we had to have the washer repaired already (we've had them 4 or 5 years). However, I wish we had stuck with the original plan of getting a front loader. When I used my parents' front-loader I LOVED it. I only "like" my Calypso, even though it does a good job of cleaning and it is an energy star product. Personal preference, I guess. Plus point: It is easier to load and unload!

I have a front loading Maytag Neptune washer and dryer about 5 yrs old. I love them and I have had no problems at all.
HOWEVER, the Maytag quality has fallen woefully behind and I will never purchase anything Maytag again.
I had a 3 yr old dishwasher and 5 yr old fridge top of the line Maytag's. They both died this year and I replaced them with top of the line Kitchen Aid. I LOVE my new Kitchen Aid appliances. I got them at Best Buy.
Best Buy in Plano has a good sales Dept that will guide you well. We have been very pleased with Best Buy.
Good luck to you. I know when I replace my washer I will be going with another brand but most certainly a front loader.
We have the Whirlpool Calypso high efficiency ("he")washer & dryer, and I love them. The washer is top-loading, but it still uses MUCH less water than a standard washer, just like the front loading washers. The spin cycle is so effective that the clothes are barely wet when they go in the dryer, which means less drying time. Also, with "he" washers you have to use the "he" detergents (there is less sudsing), but you use so much less than with standard washers. Once you narrow down your search, check reviews on specific brands/models at Amazon.com. Good luck!
General Electric or Maytag. Good luck.
