Need Pediatrician Recommendations Please-Ventura, CA

Pleasant valley peditrics in Camarillo is awesome! I know it might be a little bit of a drive, but it is well worth it.

It makes a huge difference on what insurance you have. If you have an HMO you are limited to your doctors. If you have a PPO you can pretty much choose anyone. I have been in the insurance industry for over 10 years. Thats why that is the first thing that comes to my mind.
It is good to start looking ahead of time. Also if you want your pediatrician to see you baby when he is born you have to make sure they have privlages at the hospital you are delivering at. You may want to ask you OB doctor who they recommend.
The next thing i would do is call there office. See if what the wait time is for them to answer the phones, make appointments ect. You can make an appointment with the doctor to sort of do an interview. The other thing i would find out is if you baby is sick how soon can they get you in. That was where i ran into a problem and had to change doctors when my son was a baby. Any other questions let me know. One other thing you can do is check with the state licensing board to make sure they are still licensed. It takes a little bit of investigative work but you have time and its better to do it now then later.

I have three lovely teenaged daughters, but they have been patients of the same pediatrician since they were born. I recommend him without reservation. He is a wonderful doctor, and a wonderful person and he always takes whatever time needed to explain things or work with you. His office is, however, in Camarillo and I know you had asked about Ventura, but even if you just go to him for a consult while you're pregnant, I think he can give you a good solid starting place, and he would be someone really good to set your standards. If he is too far for you, he can probably give you a really great Ventura referral as well. His name is William Bocash, M.D.; the practice is Pleasant Valley Pediatrics. There are four or five doctors in the practice (Dr. "Bill" is one of them) and even if your child is sick or needs attention on a day when he himself is not there, the other doctors are equally wonderful. I met a few pediatrician when I was in my Lamaze class. My sisters also recommended some great pediatricians. I take my son to Dr. Lynn Galan from Camarillo Pediatricians. The number there is ###-###-####. You won't be disappointed.

I second Dr. Blank's Practice. We see Dr. Pecht in that group and really love him. We've also seen Dr. Blank when Dr. Pecht wasn't available and I really really liked him as well. They have an office in Ventura across from CMH and one in Oxnard off Gonzales. We've gone to both and both are clean and have nice staff. The group is small and I've never felt that we've had to want too long or that he's overbooked. I've also called their after hours number and really liked the nurse practitioner (for non emergency call back) and recently had Dr.P paged at 5:30 am and he was wonderful.

Congrats! I use pediatricians in Camarillo but a few of my family members and girlfriends take their kids to Coastal Pediatrics. Specifically Dr. Blank. I have heard nothing but good things about him! It also depends on your insurance which DR you can use.

Hello and congratulations :) I have a 2 year old, a 7 month old, and an uh-oh on the way! We have a WONDERFUL pediatrician, but she is in Newbury Park, right off Ventu Park Rd. Congratulations Angie! I have 3 boys and have taken them to Coastal Pediatrics Medical Group. They have an office in Ventura and Oxnard. My favorite doctor is Dr. Robert Fostakowsky. The entire staff is great. They are helpful, caring, and you don't have to wait forever in the waiting room. I wouldn't take my boys anywhere else. I also really like our pediatrician Dr. Kevin White in VTA. I actually had Dr. Sally Smith first, but she dropped us because my son has a HMO. I I also would wait a long time to see her 1-2 hours. Since we've been with Dr. White, we have never had to wait more that 10 min. He is always very quick to see us and is open to my alternative style to parenting.

When I had my last baby. (She is now two), it had been a while since I had a baby doctor. (My other girls are 22 and 18) So I had no idea who to get. While in the hospital having baby Zoe, I met Dr. Lish. He was wonderful with me and Zoe and answered all my questions and concerns and still does. Hi is with CMH Centers for Family Health. Dr Green is my OBGYN and is there as well. They are both wonderful.
