Need Some Powdered Nutrition for My 2.5 Year Old.

Hello moms,
My Soon-to-be 3 year old daughter loves milk and drinks it around 3 times everyday/night. So I was wondering if anyone knows any nutritional powder which I can add in regular milk. We do give her soy milk and protein drinks sometimes. But the best she likes is regular milk. I checked out a few stores, drug and otherwise, all they had is protein drinks and no powders to add in milk.

Please suggest protein powders that you might know and the place to buy them.

Thanks..

Hi! I'm not sure if you are looking for a high calorie type powder or not, but our DS who is now 2 years old is on Carnation Breakfast powder drinks.

We give him soy milk and like your DD he LOVES his milk. He is only in the 4th percentile for weight which is why his doctor has him on the extra nutrition/calories. He was on Pediasure, but she said we could switch to the Carnation Breakfast powders since it is cheaper if we wanted and has the same effect.

Oh, and you can buy them at any grocery store in the breakfast/cereal aisle.

HTH!

A., are you looking for additional protein as well as vitamins and minerals? Or, do you just want the vitamins and minerals to add to regular milk? My company has both. I am a Shaklee distributor and I will be happy to give you more information if you are interested. I am also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother of healthy adults and children. Shaklee is a great company; our products are naturally safe and proven effective.

Hi A. -

I would highly recommend "Shaklee's" children's meal powder. It comes in both Chocolate and French Vanilla, only sold through distributors. They are the #1 Nutrition Company in the US. Proper nutrition is critical at this growing age, but can be challenging with very independent and demanding pallets!

Their children's vitamins are also wonderful, both my children take them and I've recently become a distributor because I've fallen in love with the products and so have all my friends! Everything from non-toxic biodegradable cleaners to weight loss and vitamins, great stuff! Very affordable too.

I agree with Nedra on the Carnation instant breakfast, however, I would use it to tide her over not as a permanent solution. She isn't getting the roughage from fruits or veggies, nor using her teeth as they were intended when on a liquid diet. Any tonsil issues? or swallowing/chewing problems?
I would be sure that she eats with the adults and sees them enjoying "real" food so she knows to aspire to doing the same.
After meals, I would give her the milk/Carnation, not with and not before.
K.
