Hello All: Please help, I had my daughter 2yrs ago and I just can't get rid of all this weight I gained from the pregnancy. Does any one have any suggestion on supplements or programs that could help me? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Weight Watchers is great! You can eat whatever you want pretty much just in moderation. It worked for me, but you its kind of a lifetime thing, if you don't watch it you'll gain it back! I'm pregnant now and CANNOT gaint he weight I did with my first one, so I'm gonna talk to my Dr about doing weight watchers while I'm pregnant...its a point system, pretty good! Plus exercise is always great too!!
Hope this hels..I gained 57 pounds with my first one!!! And needed to lose about 15 more pounds before I got preggo...but didn't happen.

Dear C., I am very sorry but their is no magic pill or we would all be skinny. What it comes down to is burn more then you put in. The ACSM recommends 3 days - 30 min. exercises for healthy lifestyle for weight loss 5 days - 30-45 min. exercise. This exercise can be walking the mall, zoo etc, you just have to get yuor heart rate up. As far as diet goes write down what you eat nobody has to see it but you, you are less likely to eat it if you have to write it down.
P.S. you need carbs just the right ones Complex not simple (Carbs is were you get your energy from if your body does not have them it uses muscle not fat that is were you will see pounds go away but more fat cell and less lean body mass). Plus the weight will not stay off.
If you have any ? I will help.
Best of Luck,
J.

My daughters are adopted so I have never had to deal with pregnancy weight, though I still struggle plenty without that!
:-) I just joined Weight Watchers. I did it about 5 years ago and had wonderful success. The program really does work, as long as you commit to following the program. You don't buy food pre-packaged food, just eat healthy with portion control, but there is good support and accountability. THey are having a good program right now where it works out to be around $10 a week if you join the month-to-month plan, with no enrollment fees. There are meetings all over the place-- go to their website and type in your zip code. You can even take your daughter, though I hope to not take my children as I don't think my younger daughter would do so well at playing quietly while Mommy enjoys the meeting.

I would caution you against lose weight quickly plans. It is hard to maintain the loss if you lose it real quickly. WW bills itself as a lifestyle change, not a diet. Diets start and end, and when you end, you tend to revert back to your old habbits and the weight comes back on. That is what I did with WW-- when I stopped I went back to my old habits and am truly regretting that now. I am a nibbler and a stress eater, and being home all of the time it is so easy to fall into those habits. I am hoping to make this a permanent change in my life this time.
Good luck to you!

I have done a cleansing program, no runs to the bathroom with this one. Go to www.kristinestell.isagenix.com and watch the video on the website (bottom left by Dr. Becky). Then email me if you want more info ____@____.com or you can call ###-###-####.
Be of luck! I went from a size 16 to an 8, in a short amount of time. It's doable and rewarding, that doesn't happen to often.

I've gone here since January and lost 25 lbs! It's great and easy if you don't mind taking the pills. It makes it easy to eat less and eat better foods.
$150 first visit and around $100.00 total every month thereafter. They are easy to talk to and going to the office is never intimidating. You can also call the office and talk to them more about it. Hope this helps!

Honestly, I just found a buddy to join the gym with. But, the secret to my success is www.sparkpeople.com. It's a website that helps you journal your food intake, read inspirational articles and log your exercise. I had my son 20 months ago. I started at 168 in May and am now down to 147!! Good luck to you!!

I have found that if you take the time to make it about changing your life and your self image many different diet/exercise options can work. I work for Olympic Gold Medalist, Lanny Bassham who is a mental coach for athletes and his concepts have been used for people trying to lose weight and even quit smoking. Check out the book "With Winning in Mind" by Lanny Bassham especially the goal setting section and the self image change section and apply that information along with your new diet and exercise plan. The website is www.mentalmanagement.com

Most of us when we try to lose weight we do not take the time to become someone who enjoys working out and eating healthy. We typically gain back those extra pounds faster because of it. Changing your self image might help make the difference for ya.

Hi Cristina! Exercise is key and there is a great program called Stroller Strides ( a fitness program for moms that you can do with your baby) that can help you get motivated. They are all over the metroplex. There is one in McKinney, Allen, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, and soon to be in Wylie, Richardson, and Forney. Check out the website for more info: www.strollerstrides.com. Good luck!!

I've been overweight for a large majority of my life, like most of my family. I decided to take control after I had my daughter, and I really had GREAT success with Weight Watchers. I do the core plan, which you can learn about if you decide to join. I'm never hungry, and there's room for treats and things like that in the plan. I've lost about 50 pounds on the program and now I'm a size 10 (which I've NEVER been before!). My mom also did it with me and she's lost about 50 lbs too, and now she's a WW leader in Southlake.

Hey there -

Not sure if you are still looking, but I just returned from a funeral in Indiana and had a chance to check my email.

I have been using Isagenix products for 2.5 months now and have lost 17 lbs. I have coached 6 others along their journeys to better health and wellness. Combined, they have lost over 100 lbs, have more energy, and are much more focused. Of course, everyone is different, but I haven't had a single complaint or lack of success yet.

Check out www.isamovie.com or www.invigoratinglife.isagenix.com. I would love to help you on your journey to better health and happiness.

C., I am a distributor for Shaklee. Last year, they launched their new weight loss program. I also, had been struggling with my weight after my last child who was at that time was 2. I decided to start the program and see how it worked. It is designed for you to lose inches. I went from a size 12 to a size 8 within 6 weeks. I only do part of the program here and there as maintenance and have not gained the weight back.I did only the program without any exercise since my busy life does not fit that in. I am only 5'2" so I cannot carry too much weight well. The program is called Cinch. It has a patented ingredient called Leucine that allows you to lose fat, but not muscle. This is the kep factor that makes the program work better than any others out there. On other diets you lose fat and muscle which means when you get off of the diet, you gain it all back. I have shared this information with my family as well, my mom has been on it for 2 1/2 months and has lost 32 lbs. I would love to answer any questions that you have as well. Let me also tell you that Shaklee backs all of their products with a 100% money back gurantee. The other thing to remember is that Shaklee uses only safe natural ingredients and has been around for over 50 years.Visit my website at: www.cinchplan.com/portales or email: ____@____.com
Have a good day and good luck with whatever you choose!

C.,

There are a couple of things you can do...
1. Make up your own diet and exercise plan. When you really think about it, you already know what it is you need to do; it is just actually doing it! (Believe me, I know!) There are sooo many plans out there telling you that their plan is the best and it is the *one* that will work. Phooey. You can make up a plan for yourself that will work for you in your life. Remember - there is only one rule when it comes to weight loss... you have to eat less calories than your body uses (either through normal activity and / or exercise). If you are looking for a good in home exercise, try Leslie Sansone. She is great!
2. Pick up the new Woman's World. There is an article in there about using your mind to lose weight. Although I totally believe in everything I said in #1, I believe even more in the power each and every one of us holds in our minds. We just seem to have so much dis-belief going on within ourselves - like - how could all of these things be so simple, when we have been programed from birth that life is *not* simple. I could write a book on this (I have written a book on it!), so I will stop myself now before I get to long winded.
Pick up the Woman's World, and while you are out, go to the bookstore and get "The Secret" and "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind". They are wonderful reads, and if you really get into it, you will find many more books like that that are currently out (both new and old).
I hope that this has helped.

Hey C.,
I had a baby one year ago, so I hear you! I think you can't rely on supplements and things like that. Good old fashioned exercise is the only way it will happen! For me, it was taking walks with my baby 2, sometimes 3 times a day. She loved it, I didn't feel pressure to over exert myself, but I made the most of the walking. There are lots of fitness classes where you take and involve your baby, I am starting one in my area! Look into something like that, other moms will help keep you motivated!

Good Luck!

C.,
I was in the same boat as you, except after having four children, I was up 40 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I had tried a lot of different diets and nothing ever worked. At the beginning of summer, I started a modified "sugarbusters." I've lost about 16-17 pounds so far. Basically what this entails is that you cannot eat anything with refined sugar, no bread (except whole grain breads), no rice (except brown), and no pasta. I never thought I could do it because I love rice and pasta, but once you get on it and see the weight loss, you don't want to cheat. It is now a lifestyle change for me and not so much a diet. Don't get me wrong, every once in a while, I have to have that piece of bread or chocolate cake, but I get right back on. It helps in the beginning to allot yourself a cheat day.
Good luck!
