We're in charge of snacks next week at school and they're doing the letter "T." What snacks start with a "T?" I'm stumped. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all of the great ideas. For tomorrow, I will be taking Triscuit Triangles, cheese Triangles (to go with the triscuits), and Teddy Grahams. Thanks, Moms!

Triscuits - they're whole grain and healthier than most crackers. Triangles (e.g. of cheese - try Cheddar, provolone for different colors; also teaches shapes). I like the broccoli "tree" idea - you can also take celery sticks and cut slits in one end, then put them in ice water (a jug in the fridge) and the cut ends will spread out like branches. You can use the T cookie cutter to do almost anything - cut out the centers of whole grain bread and either toast with a little Parmesan cheese or make little sandwiches with 2 pieces and a little cream cheese or sliced cheese. (Use the trimmings to make croutons or bread crumbs - don't throw them out!) You can oven roast some potato wedges in a small amount of olive oil and call them Tater Treats. Use a mix of sweet and white potatoes, or get the mix of white, blue and red potatoes and call it Tri-Color Tater Treats.

What about doing A Tea? With tea sandwiches and the like? Could be wonderfully thematic and fun.

Tangerines
Tomatoes (the grape ones for little ones)
Tea sandwiches
Tortillas - roll whole wheat tortillas with brown rice, beans and salsa, slice up like sushi rolls.
Tofu - use the 5 spice kind (extra firm) and skewer with toothpicks

I wouldn't worry about the 'picky' kids. Doing snack like this is an incentive for kids to try something new. Using peer pressure in a positive way.

Do you have cookie cutters? We love these cheese wafers and you could cut them out in the shape of a "T" or turtles, trucks, trees, etc depending on what you have. http://weelicious.com/2008/10/21/cheese-wafers/

My son also loves flavored cream cheeses. You could try it with sun dried tomatoes. Serve it on crackers or even as a tortilla roll up for more "T" http://weelicious.com/2010/05/25/sun-dried-tomato-cream-c...

Trail Mix

Tofu pudding.

Someone already mentioned it, but my son also loves cherry tomatoes.

If the kids will eat veggies you can do broccoli "trees" with dip.

Depending on how healthy your snacks need to be you can be pretty creative with cookies or cupcakes and make them into whatever shape you want to go with the theme, but our school doesn't allow any sugar (aside from fruit).

Teddy-Grahms (sp?) was the first thing to come to mind.
Those Traffic Lights things sound great!
Tiny ___ Tiny Treats, Tiny Tacos, Tiny anything ... at least it starts with T!
Tamales (cut a tamale into 3rds or 4ths as a small snack)
Triscuits - GREAT idea Diane! They even have TRIANGLE TRISCUITS.

Please do not make tofu pudding. I would be upset if my son ate tofu w/o my permission.

Just looking at the list. If my child was presented with something that is not a normal treat that most/everyone is familar with then he/she would go hungry.

Even if you think something is original and might be fun think of the kids that would not eat it and be hungry.
