I'm in the same boat as you and I use Enviroshape by Catwalk/TIGI. It's lightweight, holds well, and smells like candy. (All of TIGI's products do.)
I recently changed my hair style...I have curly hair and now I'm blowing it dry with a round brush...lots of work! Anyway, I never really needed hair spray before and now really need it. I've tried a couple of store brands and they are either too heavy or smell bad! Help!

I swear by the big sexy hair spray.....the price seems like alot but it doesnt take much and last forever.....you can get a 2 for 1 deal at target alot.....I LVOE IT!!!!!!
I use Pantene "Touchable" hairspray & they make an unscented version. Its Perfect & you can get it at Target for under $4. It works great & you don't feel like you have the dreaded helmet hair, LOL.
I have bought Rave for years but it doesn't smell pretty. I love Aussie, smells great and holds good too!
I have always liked Finesse. It is cheap, it smells good and they have a "flex" or "light" spray. Once you spray your hair, you don't even know it is there like other stiff sprays.
Nioxin
They sell it at JC Penney hair salons. It's not heavy,b ut holds well.
Sebastian is great. Have used it for years and you can purchase it at Ulta and they have a big sale several times a year and you can buy the tall can for $5.00. You can also get coupons in the mail from them and on line. I buy the Sebastian Super Hold.
Vitae is the best one I've found .... I get it at Sally's.
They have everything from mild to super hold .... I get the extra hold UNSCENTED. It's not gummy or sticky.
I feel your pain. I too have very curly hair and have been blowing it straight for years. I have used Sebastians Shaper hairspray for forever and it is great! It is very light and doesn't build up on your hair so you won't need to wash your hair everyday...which is a big deal since it is a lot of work! You'll need to get it at a salon or at Ulta though. It is more expensive than the typical spray but well worth it.
My hair is very fine and a heavy hairspray will flatten it. I use Tresamme Ultra fine. It is a fine mist and doesn't weigh down your hair.
Sebastian...a friend who owns her own salon also swears by it. One mama below noted the price as being about $5, but I've never seen it that cheap, or maybe I have my brands mixed up. I thought Sebastian usually runs around $15 o $20.
I have very fine thin hair and have always had problems with hairspray weighing it down. My sister got me Kenra Artformation Spray #18 and I LOVE IT!! It has an awesome hold and I can't even tell it is in my hair. I have never had one hold like this does!!
I would recommend Aussie HiShine hair spray. It smells good and it works great on curly or straight hair. It holds well but isn't too heavy.
I use Redken. They have different holds. You can go to Ulta and talk to one of the stylist there and they could recommend something for your hair type.
I've been using Sebastian Shaper Spray for over 20 years, on long and short haircuts, LOVE it, great hold and no sticky or helmet hair. It has a bit of smell right out of the can, but disapates quickly and does not smell once on the hair. I attempted to purchase a new can yesterday and found the original white can was no longer on the shelf at my local drug mart and had been replaced by a smaller dark colored can...bought it, but have not tried it yet. I asked if they were phasing it out and a clerk told me that Sebastian was having trouble getting the product through customs...don't know what that means, but I'm hoping they don't stop selling it! I plan to check a beauty supply store for future availability.
