V.P.
I've attended a number of networking groups in Lewisville & Flower Mound (both chambers, www.premiernetworkgroup.net, www.ndnetweavers.com), all of which allow visitors to attend at least one or two meetings before becoming a member. All of them have a similar format in that they allow everyone in the room approximately 30 seconds for their "commercial" or pitch. Of course, most of us are businesses, talking about what we do, but occasionally there will be a visitor who simply says, "I'm XXX, and I'm looking for a position in XXX industry. I've got XXX experience. I'd be happy to give you my resume after the meeting, or XXX (the groups coordinator) will have a copy that she can email to you." Personally, I find it very impressive when people take the initiative to do this. Additionally, you'll often see business owners approach these people at the end of the meeting. Sometimes it may just be for encouragement, but very often these business owners (who network with many other business owners), may know about a position that's available in the community.
I would start with the Chambers of Commerce for each of the towns you mentioned, then do a general search for "networking groups frisco..."
Good luck!
