High school girls are a great source. Contact your local high school director and ask her for referrals for girls who still need to meet their community service requirements. Expect to pay a little for their expertise. Depending on the area you are in, most of the little league drill teams go to a summer camp. You get 2 custom routines made up for you and one group routine that you can modify for your smaller team. You can even ask the league for help in selecting music. I've been a little league director since 2001. Please don't hesitate to ask more questions.

You might see if any of the local high school drill team girls need volunteer hours. However, make sure the moves aren't too suggestive for the younger girls. That's easy to change, though, if it's only a few steps.

Also, you could call NCA (National Cheerleading Association) for some suggestions.

I have taught Pee Wee Drill for 4 years and this site is wonderful:

http://www.dance.net/

If you don't mind me asking what age group are the girls? Also try to stick with a theme! For example:

In the past I did,

Country
Angels
Divas
And PJ/Party Theme
Footlose

other teams have done:
Michael Jackson
Grease
Rock and Roll
Janet Jackson
my favorite has been Batman and Robin
Madonna
and list could go on and on!

That way if you use a theme you can get more dance ideas.

Use lots of formations. Use a prop, example: boxes, tamborines, poms, etc....

I hope this helps!

Good Luck!

A. :)

I was in drill team in high school! I loved it and I wish that I had gotten involved with something like that at an earlier age. If you need any help let me know. Think about what you would want to see little kids doing that would make football games entertaining!!!
