Hi where I am from all of the doctors we needed were in the same building. I am new to the area and I didnt realize that all of the OB/GYN doctors out here are private practice. How do I know which one I should choose? Has anyone ever gone to the ones through Banner Health? If so Please let me know your reccomendations.

What can I do next?

Hi L.,
I just had my baby 6 weeks ago. My OB/GYN is Valley Women for Women. There are three doctors there, Dr. Adams, Dr. VanEeken, and Dr. Belisle. All are great. They are located in the Gilbert Health Center on Gilbert and Baseline. I did not go through Banner, but thought I would share. I wanted a very natural delivery and they were all supportive of that. None of them ended up delivering my baby girl, but the doctor that did was named Dr. Bustamante. She was there on call support and was wonderful as well. I would also recomend writing a birth plan, and looking into having a doula for your delivery. I delivered at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and it was a truly incredible experience.

Hi L.,

This was new to me too. We moved here from San Diego and most of the doctors we had available were in a group practive through one of the major hospitals. I actually started by calling a local Doula organization, they help moms through labor and delivery and would know some great doctors. That is how I found Dr. Brass at True Harmony Wellness center. She is awesome, love her!! Her website is www.trueharmonywellness.com. She is super attentive, is a mom herself, takes lots of time to talk about any concerns or worries you may have and I rarely have had to wait. Her center is awesome, very calm and filled with very nice, knowledeable people. She has a nurse practitioner and physicians assistants and you always get a quick response to phone calls. I highly recommend her. She is in Mesa. I delivered at Banner Baywood and loved it.

Good luck!
T.

I highly recommend Drs. Johnstone and Whitehead. They accept most major insurance plans, and deliver at Good Samaritan.
Dr. J, delivered all 4 of my kids and she was great. The office staff is very helpful and will handle any questions that may come up. Give this office a try if you are centrally located.

I'd like to invite you to attend an AZ Birth Network birth circle. They happen 4 times per month at different locations around the valley. The Scottsdale circle was monday but the Phoenix circle is this Thursday. You will be able to get opinions from the other moms that attend. There are usually other birth proffesionals there as well (doula's, midwives...) who have worked with many of the OB's in town. You can look at www.azbirthnetwork.com for more info and dates for other birth circles. Please feel free to email me if you have specific questions. ____@____.com

About me...I am a Chiropractor and 23wks pregnant with my first. I was looking for an OB who was comfortable with taking a natural approach with few interventions. I have been with Dr. Kathleen Schwartz out of Camelback Women's Health. I have been quite happy with her so far and have heard good things about her through the birth circle.
