My son was 16 months when his teeth finally came. And then they came all at once! My other son is 9 months old and still no teeth. I got teeth very late when I was little so it could be a hereditary thing. Good luck!
My son who is now 11 months old has been actively teething since he was 3 months old. He still has NO TEETH!!! you can feel a couple of them almost right at the surface but nothing ever pokes through. I thought that he would have at least one by now, I actually thought by Christmas time it would happen. About a week before Christmas it was the closest to having a tooth poke through than ever...but nothing. Should I be worried about this?
So the first one came throught finally. It happened on Monday, the 15th, and the second one just came in yesterday, the 20th!!! There are like 3 more that I can see but who knows how long before they make there entrance into the world. Thank you everyone for you advice!!!

glad it started comming through for you. get ready with that tylenol and baby orajel because i was in the same boat as you now my son is 14 months and has 8 teeth once they started comming that just wouldn't stop .. i swear he's getting ready for another 1-2 teeth lol
I wouldn't worry. My daughter was 12 months when she cut her first tooth. She bit me as a way of telling me she had one. My son was about 4 months when he cut 4 teeth at once. It all depends on the child. Everyone one grows at a different rate.
My older daughter had all of her teeth by eight months. My second daughter started teething at about 6 months but had none. I kept thinking that something was wrong with her but the doctor said to just give her time. She got her first tooth 3 days before her second birthday and then they didn't stop coming in. Within a month she had all of her teeth.
lol.. I know the feeling.. My first son was 13 months old when his first tooth popped through! Now, I have my second child and he is 8 months old and still no sign of teeth..Don't worry they will come..
Hi D.
I wouldn't worry about it at all. Sometimes it just takes longer for some baby teeth to break through. My fiance's brother didn't get ANY teeth until he was 13 months. And then they all came at once.
I remember my mom telling me that the longer it takes for teeth to break through, the healthier the teeth are. I'm not sure that's true, but it sounds good to me.
Good Luck and hopefully someday they'll break through.
My nephew turned 1 this past weekend and also has zero teeth but can see them through the gums. Babies develop at different rates. I wouldn't worry about anything. He'll probably have them all come in at the same time.
The short answer is no. The age at which a child's first tooth appears can vary enormously. Usually, the first tooth erupts at around the age of six months but very occasionally babies are born with a tooth and some still have a completely gummy smile on their first birthday. Your baby is, almost certainly, just taking his time.
Talk to your baby's grandparents. Late teething runs in families so you may find that either you, or your baby's father, were also slow in sprouting teeth. However, if you are still worried, or there are still no signs of any teeth coming through after he is a year old, talk to your doctor or health visitor who will be able to check that all is well.-babycenter
The child drools and chews starting at 2 months but this is not a sign of teething. We have seen them born with teeth already out and the latest I've seen them erupt was 18 months old with no teeth yet. Usually it is 6 to 12 months old. The later they erupt the stronger they are and less cavities. Teething does not cause fever or wake them up at night crying. Call the office for an appointment if that occurs. You need to start cleaning them when they come out. Use a baby tooth brush or a washcloth on your finger to clean them. Use any tooth paste but use it very sparingly because if they swallow too much paste, it will damage their permanent teeth. Do not put them in bed with a bottle of milk or juice or it will rot out their teeth quickly. Just do not start that bad habit and you won't have to break them of it. They do not have to see the dentist till 3 years old. The dentist say they want to see the child at 1 or 2 years old just to tell you this. If you see any blemishes in the teeth, then make an appointment with the dentist.
Good luck!
Hi D.,
I wouldn't worry at all, my son now 3 was 13 months old before getting a single tooth to break thru even thou you could feel them.
D.,
I wouldn't worry. My daughter got her first tooth at 14months. (even though teething many months before) And after that, they all came in very quickly. I told her pediatrician I was concerned at the 1year old ck-up but he wasn't at all worried. He said at 18months, if there were still no teeth, then a hormone test could be done.
So, try not to worry...they'll come through. :)
Hi D.--
I honestly can't remember when my kids got their teeth, but I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you've asked your pediatrician about it and they're not worried, then I would just go with the flow. My daughter didn't walk until 21 months and I fretted about it. We got her checked out completely and she was fine, and one day she just got up and walked.
Take it easy on yourself. : )
My first son did not get his first tooth until he was 11m. The dentist told me teh later they get their teeth the better. He also said he probably would lose his teeth later than other kids. I dont think there is anything to worry about yet. :)
They will come when they are ready. RELAX!
My son didn't get his first tooth until about 13 months. And what they say seems to be true...the later they get their teeth, the later they lose them. My son is now 7 1/2 and hasn't lost a single tooth yet! It may be a little frustrating, but just be patient.
You should not worry. but if you feel better call a dentist to make yourself feel better. L.
