Does anyone know of any nursing pads that work like panty liners? I mean that i am looking for very thin discreet pads as I leak very little but still need protection. When i wear them I look as thoughI am stuffing my bra with tissues! Any recos for washable/reusable/disposable nursing pads?

What can I do next?

I loved these things called Sootheez. they are not actually absorbant, but they did seem to stop small leaks. They are cloth on the outside and gel on the side that touches you. They are $14, but are washable. And they feel really good on sore nipples. They don't show under most clothes (except thin tshirts...) Good luck!

Another idea... can you feel your letdown when you nurse (many women can but some can't)? If you can, there's a trick you can use to keep from leaking. When you feel letdown, put some light pressure on the side you do not want to leak. The pressure will stop the letdown. This takes a little coordination and practice, but I was able to prevent leaking after about 3-4 weeks, and I haven't needed the pads since. This trick can also be used if you get a random letdown (like if you hear a baby cry) - just casually fold your arms across your chest and put some pressure on your breasts for a minute. Voila!

I used the Lansinoh disposable nursing pads during my first pregnancy and found them to be very discreet and comfortable.

The ones I liked and used were by Gerber. They are very thin. They don't have adhesive like pantiliners, but I found them the most discreet. I have (and had when I was breastfeeding!) a larger chest so the other thicker ones looked ridiculous! Good luck.

Hi K., I tried them all and liked the Lansinoh the best. They are thin and hide easily under shirts. They are also very absorbent for long nights when your baby cuts back on night feedings. I noticed that someone recommended the Lily Pads. Be careful not to wear that brand for a long length of time. Some leakage is necessary to prevent blockage which can turn into mastitis.

Hi K. - my vote is for the Lansinoh ones (you can buy them at Target in the baby section by the pump supplies) or the Medela ones (I think I picked these up from BabiesRUs). They are both exactly the same in my opinion. They are VERY thin, very absorbent, and do not show through even just a cami that you put them in. I wore these daily this summer when I first started breastfeeding and leaked like a faucet and would wear nursing tank tops. You could not tell I was wearing a nursing pad (which you could with the Gerber) and I NEVER leaked through.

The nice thing is, your milk should level out a bit and you won't leak like you do now forever. I heard this from my sister and a couple of my friends, and thought I would be the exception to the rule. Now almost 6 months after my delivery, I really don't need to wear them anymore. I probably didn't at about 4 1/2 or 5 months, and just never really noticed until recently when somehow I forgot to put them in my nursing tank one day. So you may not need them forever!

Hi K.

I used the Gerber pads. Very thin and discreet disposable pads. The washable ones are too thick.
Hope this helps

I think that they Lansinoh ones may be very thin... I have a sample from a conference I attended if you want to try them.

The Medela ones are really thin. But I liked the advent ones better. The Medela had a thin plastic lining and I thought that it was a little itchy. Both these brands are disposable.

I also leaked just a little, and wanted something so my nipples wouldn't "show" all the time.

I purchased Lily Padz, they are soft plastic, reusable pads that stop the milk from coming out in the first place, so you don't need absorbant pads. They can be reused time and time again by washing with regular soap and water. I used one pair for about 6 months and have another pair that I used for several months until I stopped nursing.

I got them on-line. They were about $20
