I know how you feel. My daughter is 5 almost 6 and i look like i just had her myself or look like i am about to have another one. I try to watch what i eat and keep busy. I just seem to not beable to keep it off when i lose some. It sucks!!
I had my daugher 4 years ago and by the look of my body it seems 1 week ago. I can't believe I let it go this long. I was in the army and I know how to loose the weight. I just can't seem to find the energy or the motivation to get there. I am always so busy and so tired when I get home. I need a way to loose the weight that will fit into the tight schedule of a single parent. I think I'll be a single parent forever because my self esteem is at an all time low right now. Before pregnancy I was a size 4 with an A cup. Now I am a D cup size 12. I don't need to be a four but Id like to get rid of a cup or 2 and about 4 sizes. Any suggestions.
Thanks for all the wonderful advice guys. I was thinking it would be a good idea if we could start our own little motivational group to encourage and to support. Things are done better in groups. Oh and I am 5'2" and I have an average body type...It's that pouch that is really emabarrising me. I could deal fine with the strech marks it's the dunlap (done lopped over my belt) that I hate and am so embarressed of.

Try the South Beach Diet. It worked for me. I know... Diets are bad, right?
It's pretty much all about eating whole grains instead of things made with processed white flour, non or low fat items, LOTS of fruits and veggies, getting the full amount of fluids per day, and cutting out sugar. Eat frequent small meals, instead of 3 big ones. Basically, if you feel hungry, you're not doing it right. There are guidelines and tons of recipes (all for free) on www.southbeach-diet-plan.com
The sugar was the hardest part for me, but once you get it out of your system, it's easy to keep up with it. Splenda is a decent enough sweetener, even if it's not the real thing.
I agree with whoever said that you may still be in a good range for your height, but if you want to lose the weight, then do it. Just make sure you do it in a healthy way.
I had my first baby in May 2005 and when she was 3 months old I found out I was pregnant again! I was just starting to like the results I was seeing, then it just stopped and started to go up. My 2nd daughter is now 5 months old and I joined Gold's Gym. I love it! The first week was the hardest, after that I just naturally was able to get up and go in the morning and the energy now is more than double when I don't go. I see a trainer twice a month and I have lost a total of 12 pounds and over 20 inches in the first two months. They also have a daycare there so you don't have to worry about finding someone to watch your little girl. I hope it helps! Good luck!!!
I'm 4ft11in, 155lbs (Sz 12-14), and a DD. Although I am trying to lose some of the weight, I'm also trying to come to terms with things. I don't excersize, but I do try and eat better than I have in the past. I am very active throughout the day as I have an 18 month old running around the house. Just watching what I eat I am losing some of the weight, slowly. A pound or two a week.
What I do to make myself feel better though is to wear clothing that fits me. I have one tank top for example that hits me at the top of my thigh. It elongates my torso making me look skinnier around the midsection. I just purchased a pair of stretch Levis. Baggy pants make me look even bigger than I really am. These jeans hug my legs. I then wear a pair of heals with them so I look taller and skinnier. I pair the pants with vintage looking t-shirts that again pull down to my thigh. When I dress like this I'm more likely to put on a little make up, maintain good posture and just generally feel a lot better about myself.
You really would be suprised at what a few changes in your wardrobe would do for your self-esteem. And you don't need to spend a lot of money. Go to a local Goodwill or 2nd hand shop (I love them!). You can also join your local "Free" board on Yahoogroups. The key is to find the clothing that fits you best and makes you feel good. Invent a style that is uniquely you! In time you will lose the weight, but why not feel good about yourself now.
You do realize that there are women out there who pay big bucks to have your chest? At that cup size you are going to wear a bigger top, anything smaller won't fit, trust me I've tried. At 5'7" I prefer to weigh at least 140#. Why? Well for starters I don't get as sick as often. I work in healthcare and watch the girls my height but much thinner than I always getting sick as well as injured. I currently am a size 6, sounds pretty good right? I would rather be a 10, at least then I have a few more curves like we as women are supposed to. After both my kids I ballooned up to size 16/18 and weighted in at aver 160#. So how did I loose the weight? I forced myself to get up 1/2 hour early and started weight lifting, stretching, and exercizing. I also stopped eating junk, prepackaged frozen foods, fast food, soda/carbonated drinks, watched my salt intake, and started eating lots of veggies and fruits with little meat. Currently my family calls ourselves psuedovegitarians. I was a single mom when I started all of this and it is not easy BUT I have found that when I am exercizing and watching how much garbage I put in my body I feel better and have more energy. Don't dismiss the power of organic teas as well. Also remember if you are birth control pills your weight loss will be different as one of the side affects is weight gain. DO NOT drink things like Slim Fast Shakes or anything with artificial sweeteners in it (NEVER EVER DIET SODA) studies have found that not only do the artificial sweeteners turn to formaldehyde in your system (after all they were originally designed to be ant poison and not eaten by humans) they also encourage weight gain, not loss.
Best of luck!
First of all, a size 12 and a D cup is not fat or a bad thing, we put way too much emphasis on the number in our pants rather than the way we eat or if we are healthy, so until you loose the weight embrace yourself, your fine and love yourself first.
Now to loose the weight, you have to make time for yourself, for you peace of mind and for exercise. Also the best thing is to change your eating habits and the best way to do that is weight Watchers, join online if you can't get to the meetings,
you will see results quickly and once you get the hang of the points it is just a life style and it is a nobrainer, plus drink lots and lots of water, cut out carbonated beverages and snack during the day with things like carrots and celery or broccoli, don't use a ton of ranch that is fattening, just eat the veggies.
Goodluck, you can do this being single and trying to lose weight does and can work.
A., I just read a book called the 3 hour diet. I've been on Weight Watchers before and lost the weight but I don't have the motivation or time to go to meetings. On the 3 hour diet, you eat every three hours and have a proportion amount of protein, carbs and veggies & fruits. I know a girl who dropped 45 lbs on this diet. Your suppose to lose 2 lbs a week and your not starving. Good Luck!
Now you didn't tell us what your height and body frame is. So you may not be overweight. For me I am trying to get back to size 10-12 because I would look sick if I was a size 5 again. But then I am 5'7", med-larg boned and still pretty muscular. After my kids I lost it all and 5 pounds. (I had full term twins) But then I started having hormone problems a couple years after and started to gain weight then I had a total hysterectomy on top of that. That is when my hormones were all screwed up and found out the reason I kept gaining weight was from being Estrogen dominant. But I found a was to lose some weight while having fun with my kids. They still like the Wiggles.... you will get an areobic workout if you do all the moves and jumping that the Wiggles do! I would tape them everyday and filled up a whole tape of their show. So you can do that and maybe even start a time with your daughter and get her into exercise and fitness! My kids love to exercises with me. I use to use them till they got to big as my "dumb bell" and do bench presses with them. I do still use them for leg extensions by holding there hands, putting my feet on their belly and letting them act like they are flying. So think of some fun ways to spend time with your daughter and include her in it. It's never to early to teach them about exercise and eating right! Good luck and if you want someone to lose weight with let me know! We can team up and let each other know what we did that day.
I am having the same weight loss problems you are. My little boy is 5 though. I have been going to self.com and they have some really great suggestions and guides for losing weight the healthy way. They also have alot of great support groups and information forums. I think it would be helpful for you.
YOUR HAVING BEEN IN THE ARMY IS NOT EXACTLY SOMETHING THAT ENCOURAGES WEIGHT LOSS. YES I KNOW THEY HAVE UNREALISTIC STANDARDS FOR MEN AND WOMEN....MY HUSBAND WHO HAS BEEN IN THE ARMY FOR OVER 20 YEARS GAINED ABOUT 20 POUNDS WHILE HE WAS DEPLOYED......SO THE ARMY IS GREAT ABOUT WANTING IT BUT THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ISSUE THE HIGH FAT WEIGHT GAINING CRAP THAT MAKES PEOPLE FAT....IM NOT IN ANY WAY PUTTING DOWN THE ARMY AS FAR AS ITS TACTICS IN OTHER AREAS GO....IM VERY PROUD OF MY HUSBAND AND THE PEOPLE IN HIS UNIT THAT HE WAS DEPLOYED WITH. BUT WEIGHT LOSS IS A PERSONAL THING...EACH PERSON BEING DIFFERENT. I ASKED FOR WEIGHTLOSS ADVICE ON HERE BEFORE TO AND PRETTY MUCH SOUTH BEACH DIET WON. I HAVE LOST A GREAT AMOUNT OF WEIGHT. WHEN I WAS AT THE GYM LAST WEEK A FRIEND CAME UP AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT..I DIDNT THINK I HAD LOST AS MUCH SO I WAS LIKE A LITTLE...HE SAID NO YOUVE DROPPED ALOT....SO I WEIGHED MYSELF(CURIOUSITY HA HA) AND I HAD LOST OVER 15 POUNDS.....SO GO FOR THE SOUTH BEACH DIET..IT REALLY IS EASY..ONCE YOU GET PAST THE FIRST STAGE ANYWAY. GOOD LUCK
Hi A.! I know how you feel, my little boy is 5 now and i still look like I just had him. I think being a single mom must be one of the hardest jobs ever because my husband works away and thats hard enough. I think you can try to make a mommys time when maybe you could go to the gym. If you have a friend who would be interested in helping you to get motivated or joining in with you. Maybe a family member you could persuade to join in.... I hope this may be a little help to you. Take care and Good Luck!!! L. Bock
