what should i be prepered for other than multifples because we are jumping in all the way.

question more specific to med: side effects?
how will i know if its working or starting to take effect? longer - heavier periods, spotting?
do i have to go for more frequent checks with my OB?
will they do more blood tests than usual?, or regular amount of tests like when you do get pregnant?

My Intention in this Is only to ask you from experiences,
Women that might , or could give me their point in this.
We have both been checked and only starting to try on clomid, then go from there.

Please I dont need rude coments.
Thank You.

I hope you get some experiences here from women who have used Clomid.
That's what you asked for, right?
Good luck to you!

I was on clomid several years ago so I don't remember all the details. I will share this...it did not work for me ( but worked twice for a friend) and when I ended up at a fertility clinic that Dr. was surprised that I had not had more monitoring done through my OB. My OB gave it to me and then left us on our own to just try. I felt like I wasted time bc if I had been monitored he would have seen from my blood work that it wasn't working. So my advice based on my experience would be to make sure uou are monitored and that you are not "wasting" your time. Just an FYI...I now have 3 children... so keep the faith and best of luck to you!!

Clomid helps you ovulate, so you can very likely release more than one egg at a time. It effects your hormones, so there's always the possibility of side effects from unusual hormone fluctuations. Be warned that if you have anything like fibroids or endometrosis, it can cause pain from the hormones, or a blocked tube can be quite painful when the egg tries to travel through it. Been there. It's often the first thing doctors try. It didn't work for me, but sending you lots of baby dust.

I HATE when people respond to medical questions with 'we're not doctors, ask your doctor'. Seriously? DUH! But it helps and is comforting to ask & receive experience & advice from other people who have been there. That's all you're asking for, not a clinical diagnosis.

ANYWAY, sorry for the rant... I have never taken clomid but I just wanted to say, I'm saying a prayer that this works for you. Good luck!

I took clomid for years. It worked for me. It's job is to make you ovulate. It was doing its job, and I knew it was because I had regular cycles, but it still took me a long time to get pregnant. The first time took about a 18 months on clomid, and the second time took 5 years. After taking it for so long, I was able to feel when I was ovulating (a twinge of pain).

After not getting pregnant for a while, the dr wanted to do checks to be sure the clomid was actually making me ovulate, so they did ultrasounds in the middle of the month and could actually see me ovulating.

The worst is the hormone the dr prescribes right before you start the clomid. My husband call progesterone the "are we getting divorced yet?" drug, because progesterone induces a period along with 10 days of PMS, including moodiness. Be forewarned about that. If you don't go off and on the clomid, you only have to take it for one cycle right before the clomid.

Best of luck to you! (P.S. Both of my sisters took clomid to get pregnant, too. One now has 5 kids, including twins, and the other has 3 kids, including twins!)
