Oozing from C-section Incision

Hello Moms,

I delivered my baby 13 days ago by c-section. This was a repeat c-section but the first time they used the steri strips on me. The nurse put them on the day I was leaving the hospital and about 5 days ago I noticed that right in the middle of my incision, there was some oozing. No pain, no swelling and no temp. I called my OB and they said unless I start having pain or temperature then it should be fine. The steri strips have now turned light green where it's oozing and I'm really getting worried.
I have no way of getting to the OB until late this week.
Have any of you moms experienced anything like this and did everything turn out ok?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What can I do next?

I had greenish oozing with my first c-section & my OB prescribed antibiotics for infection. Perhaps you can describe in detail to your OB & they'll be able to call something in since you can't get to the office. I hope you're well soon!

i've had two c-sections and steri strips and no green oozing either time. i would get it looked at, it's very easy to get an infection!

Yes! Last year I had a very bad infection in my incision!! I ended up having to take antibiotics and get it drained 2 times a week. That is the worst case scenario though! I would keep calling your ob and just go up there and have him/her look at the incision!!

N., Just from what I know about surgeries and the experiences my family has had I would go get it checked! Can you go to the ER to have it checked? It's much better to be safe than sorry. L.

I would definitely call your OB .. I would not go to the ER unless you start with some other symptoms (I try to avoid the ER .. unless it's a true emergency) .. not worth the 8 hour wait ;-)

Good luck ... congrats on the baby!!! :-D

The oozing could mean you have an infection at the incision sight...I'd call your ob and try to get an appt. and/or antibiotics. Hope you get to feeling better soon :)
